I have a friend that's an ole miss fan

Good friend, while we were catching tuna on diamond jigs this weekend, we got into a discussion over the allegations.
He said that he thought the NCAA was picking on ole miss because they were rising to power. He says that only 9 were against football and that most of the punishment was served with the tunsil suspension and that there was no way the NCAA could punish Hugh Freeze. He asked me if I got the vibe that the NCAA was picking on ole miss and I told him frick no. Won't talk football with him again. He also said ole miss will contend for a title with LSU and Alabama this year. (He even said that the 4th and 25 play should've been called back)

Why is it so important to you that Ole Miss fans believe your predictions about this?
Is it just that galling that we're getting out of a few months of misery by not worrying about the potential outcome until it happens?

Has there ever been a fan base that thought NCAA sanctions were not too steep and just picking on their school?

Maybe it's because I don't live in either Mississippi or Louisiana, but I can't imagine the level of sensitivity some people describe when it comes to football. My core social group is all Ole Miss, LSU, and non SEC people, and there is never anything approaching animosity. The closest we get is when the non-SEC people think the Ole Miss and LSU people talk about college sports too much.

That is funny, considering Ole Miss was lucky the game even made it to OT.
Hugh Freeze deserved to lose in regulation when he stupidly went for it on 4th down from midfield and handed the ball to an offense that they hadn't stopped all day.
Luckily for Freeze, he had a chance in OT because the FG was blocked. Converting 4th and 25 is what Freeze deserved, for being so stupid at the end of the game.
