What would you call them?

They're playing in the final four for the first time ever. So are we. That bodes well for us. They've also had an easier path.

I'm not saying we're going to win, but I'm not afraid of a team just because they're a 1 seed. Especially since we've beaten a 2 seed, 3 seed, and 4 seed to get to this point. They've beaten an 8 seed, 4 seed, and 11 seed.

I don't know, a 1 seed.

Ok, I never said you should be scared. Just that historically, most of these runs end in the final four with exceptions such as Villanova, Butler and a few others which I have probably forgotten.

And we've gotten the best possible 1 seed to be added as another exception.

ok...

I'm not trying to get into an emotional argument about who wins because I don't care (actually won't even get to watch live because I'm going to a concert).

My first post literally referenced historical results. Good luck to South Carolina, I always enjoy watching a team make history.

ETA: Just because i was curious and looked it up there have been 2 six seeds, 1 seven seed and 3 eight seeds to play for the national title.

You didn't really make a point at all...

Look, it was just a comment bringing up historical rankings and results and wasn't even directed at you. I am not insulting your schools team. Chill out.

I didn't say you were at all. I didn't even mean for this to turn into an argument but you took issue with me saying Zaga isn't far removed from Cinderella status themselves.

That wasn't meant to counter what you said, simply that while they have the seed and all that its not something to be afraid of. I wasn't saying you were wrong, moreso that I'd rather play Gonzaga than North Carolina. If I didn't convey that clearly, my fault.

Monday's.

Its all good, I just see a lot of people discounting Gonzaga and I think they are a very good team this year, much better than past Gonzaga teams, so i was reacting to all of that as well probably. Should be a greet final weekend of bball.

I see where you're coming from my man, truly. Gonzaga is a good team that has performed well. However, now that we are down to the nut cutting, I don't see how anyone could count us out. Analytics wise we have, at most, been considered to have a 30% chance to win and that was against Marquette. Each round we have been given a subsequently lower and lower likelihood of success. Not only have we won but we have averaged a 13.5 point margin of victory while doing so.

As far as CNB's point, a lot of which was just reiterated above, we have had a much harder road to get here. RPI wise the best team Gonzo has face was WVU who is around #20 I think and they escaped that game with a 3 point win. Other than Marquette, every team we've played has been rated better than that.

I'm taking emotion out of it as well, looking purely at performance in the tournament itself with all of the pressure and fanfare that it brings. I don't think it will shock anyone if either team wins. both are playing great basketball.

But the title game will consist of Gonzaga and North Carolina. As much as I'd like to see an SC NC match up, it just isn't going to happen. That's just how it goes in the Final Four. Good run though.[/img]

This is the correct answer because the Zags are lay down the cock down on the Gamecocks in this game. Gonzaga 100 USC 71. Bet everything you have on Gonzaga and the over!

There has to be something wrong in this whole thread when you have a title "I hate to break it to you Cocks" by poster Elton John...
