When was the last time there wasn't a contingent of LSU fans bitching about the coaching? Never. Not even Lord Saban.
And then we go through the painful search, none of the candidates who were supposed to be waiting in the wings appear and we take a shot with someone lesser known. If it works, they all say I told you so (and how many times has it worked?). If it doesn't, it's because our AD is an idiot. Not because they were wrong that we needed a new coach. This game has been going on for many, many years.

Lucky? Not lucky, just easy.
Anyone could recruit at LSU, it's one of the top recruiting states and LSU has no competition in the state for those high end recruits.
In state vs out of state should almost always go to the in state school, just like DGB vs Ark, top end recruit chose to stay home. That's how it goes generally.
Miles has it easy as frick at LSU, should never leave, it gets no easier elsewhere to recruit.

I can find some coaches in the 90's who were at LSU that had access to that La. talent that were not worth a flip.
I think Miles is a good coach who just has had a bad run of offensive hires lately.
