There are quite a few parallels. Won championships at a lower level. Got elevated and kept winning, made championship game in FBS once he got to a P5 job but couldn't win it, then went to the SEC
KD is much younger though. He's a solid hire, his only real question is recruiting. But nobody Bama could have hired would come without questions, it's probably the best realistic hire they could have made.

It's the same type of hire.
The major differences being DeBoer has won a playoff game while Kelly has a more proven track record and has recruited better.

He has nowhere near the number of wins that Kelly has and Kelly was LSU'S first choice while Deboer was the fourth choice of the Gumps so no..
