I've read the deceased victim was pregnant and the infant survived. Could Collins be the Father? They will be performing a test to determine who cares for the infant.
I'm wishing the best for Collins.....I hate any FB player to stick around for his SR season to get a degree, improve himself physically and emotionally and then this happens.

I mean anything is possible, but according to a family member that knows the family, he's had the same gf since HS. Still with her, and she's alive and well.

Clearly he is linked to the death more that has been reported. No one wants to risk drafting the next Aaron Hernandez.

The police have said he is not a suspect, but I believe they have also said they don't have any suspects right now. NFL teams are obviously worried that this kid could eventually become a suspect

With the temperature of the league lately, GMs cannot afford the slightest chance they could be associated with a murderer or the like. It's unfortunate but until BRPD clears his name and gets what they need out of him, I don't think he gets drafted.

or be very happy they didnt waste a first round pick on a murderer

If Collins is cleared BRPD should take a shite storm of criticism for the releasing of his name. BRPD is already a constant embarrassment to the city.

i dont know if collins had anything to do with it or not. I hope not! But i just dont understand if he is innocent why didnt he fly down to baton rouge wed night and talk to police, ask for lie detector, anything to clear his name asap instead of waiting to talk to police after draft. I just dont get it

mainly because southern cities don't riot. If Collins is cleared this wont be the first time the BRPD went after a big name only to end up with egg all over their face.

I wouldn't subject myself to a lie detector, but if it was me I would have called my lawyer on first contact by the cops and then went to answer whatever questions with my lawyer. It would be insane to ever talk to the cops without a lawyer present on a serious matter like this. I feel like the cops probably called him, he probably called a lawyer shortly after and once he did that it made brpd upset that he would have the gaul to contact a lawyer and they released his name.

yes i agree take a lawyer! always lawyer up.. but dam i would have met with them wednesday night if i had nothing to hide. Missing out on too much money by putting it off. Bad situation if he is innocent and i hate it for him, but i will withold judgement until all of the details come out.

Agree with all of this except the not drafted part.
Somebody will use a late round pick on him - which is actually worse for the kid at this point. Going on the assumption that he's innocent, if he can't get early round money might as well get to pick your own team via the UDFA route.

Some team is going to get a top 10-15 pick talent as an UDFA and it will work out well for them...
