He mentions the SEC in it, to keep it SEC Rant related.

Wonder how this is going over with the Commish of the Texas Ten..

quote:

Texas Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville joined Rivals Radio.

“I don’t think this conference will last long because there is too much disparity between all the teams. In the SEC, for instance, Vanderbilt makes as much money in the television contract as Florida. Everybody is good with it. Everybody is on the same page. Everyone gets the same votes.

“That doesn’t happen here in the Big 12. We have some teams that get a little bit more money and have a little bit more stroke than some of the other teams. And when that happens, you’re gonna have teams looking for better avenues to leave and reasons to leave.”

“We have a 10-team league right now,” Tuberville said. “But I just don’t know how long that’s gonna last, to be honest with you.”

“Being here for six months, I’ve just kind of noticed there’s just not a lot of camaraderie in this league like you have in the SEC. … It starts with the commissioner. And I think Mike Slive has done a good job. Roy Kramer did a good job of building a base where everybody was on the same page. And that just has not happened here in the Big 12. It’s just a matter of time, to be honest with you, unless everybody gets on the same page.”

I wonder if they realize yet that he is just using them as a springboard back into the SEC. He is gonna want the LSU job bad when Leslie finally gets the axe.

Was it already posted? If so, my bad. If not, wasn't a gig on Tuberville, if anything, he's spot on.

I imagine it's pretty frustrating for a school like texas tech to be in that situation. Oklahoma, Texas A & M, and Missouri all have other options if they want out but Texas Tech really does not have any.

I agree. And I also agree that he'll jump for the SEC first opportunity that comes up. How would Lsu fans feel about Tuberville coming there, IF Miles were to leave at the end of this season?

I think they would be happy about it. I actually had a group of LSU fans stop me when they saw my AU hat at the flora bama to talk to me about that very subject. Their theory was that as much success that Tubs had at AU he could have even more at LSU where it wouldn't be as hard to recruit. These were actually somewhat intelligent LSU fans (I didn't know they existed either) so the crowd that thinks AU never beats LSU without paying off refs may not feel the same way.

I think it'd be an interesting match. How well he maintained the recruiting at the level it's been the last decade would be interesting to see too, given the style of play he likes to play.

I couldn't watch LSU football anymore if Tommy T came here. I respect him as a coach, and think he'll do well, but he's the enemy! Sometimes you have to stand for something.
