The kid is strong. To take a beating like he did last year I suspect he will be productive.

Don't believe everything you read, this is the Vol-controlled media trying to hype them up.

It's overused but he runs angry. He's just as happy knocking the defender over on his way as he is running around untouched. Total YAC machine.

Believe it or not, he actually looks faster.

This. Hurd is a load to bring down for sure but our OL did him zero favors last year. I thought he was very impressive when he actually got some blocks. He's got very good vision, did well in pass protection for a freshman and can catch the ball well out of the backfield too.

Jalen Hurd lacks first-step explosiveness. When he gets going he is fast enough and plenty explosive, though. He has good lateral agility and runs behind his pads well. He is a guy that needs a good head start to get going.
I was at the O&W game and he looks a solid 10 pounds heavier and, yes, he does look noticeably faster. He looks like an OLB, physically.
He'll never be a burner, but he's a home run threat because he is tough to tackle once he gets past the second level.

The announcers for the TaxSlayer Bowl kept comparing his running style and toughness to Marcus Allen.

Makes sense, as he finally has two healthy shoulders to bulk up his upper body. The S&C says he should play at about 230, so we will see how he carries it.
I'd like for him to be a bruiser, with deceptive speed, now that we have Kamara.
Hurd was the fastest guy, in terms of mph achieved in game, on the team last year.
