Be interesting to see how that added weight affects him, if he keeps it...

Interesting note from Butch Jones today: RB Jalen Hurd is up over 240 pounds. Played near 225 last year.

Good or bad??? Is that where y'all want him?....

Thought he lacked explosion last year. I can't imagine 240 being good for him. Probably could have lost 10 lbs.

That's great if he can keep his acceleration.

Believe it or not, he actually looks faster.

He was constantly banged up last year and had super shitty blocking.

Hopefully our O-line is better. Our skill positions are stacked if they can stay healthy.

Will not need to hit any home runs for us now that we have Kamara. I'm fine with it.

Doubt he's 240. Player weights always seem exaggerated.

Good. We saw him in the O&W and he was visibly faster than he was last year.

He runs tough, just didn't see a lot of big play ability from him. Slow feet.

I remember this from high school. They'd weigh us wearing all our pads and stuff, and take a height measurement when we had our cleats on

6-1 210 sounds a lot better than 5-11 190

He looked pretty damn thin at 225.

Hurd is a long strider. He's listed at 6'3' (although he looks taller than that) and doesn't look as fast as he is (even last year his speed was deceptive). He was also playing with a labrum injury that needed repair in the offseason.

Healed up, he looks faster than he's ever been. However, a big guy like him is typically not gonna be as fast as a tiny scatback that isn't an all-purpose back like Hurd and is instead used pretty much for utility/speed purposes but Hurd has plenty of playmaking ability. Saying he has slow feet is just silly. The fact that he could move the ball at all last year with our oline was nothing short of a miracle.

Didn't realize he was this tall, measurables similar to D. Henry.

I've like him, as much as I can like a Vol players, while he's been at UT, been very solid.

Hurd got a lot of the Henry comparisons coming out of HS from a size perspective. I think he ends up leaving Knoxville with a very respectable career.

Which is slightly bigger than what Gurley is listed at.
