Sorry, Cat. There will never be a division of the SEC called "north".

Switch out Mizzou and Arky and you have very even matched divisions.

Pods could preserve traditional rivalries and also ensure that the entire conference plays each other within at least a 3 year period.

Does the idea really bother you that much?
If the SEC eventually expands to 16 teams, then having a pod system is almost a necessity, unless we want to play 10 conference games.

Sec championships since 1992
22 games
11 for east, longest streak 6
11 for west, longest streak 5
West is up for now , but things always equal out.
But if I had to choose , switch AU and MIZZ
Or preferably get away from divisions , top 2 to SECCG.
NCAA would have to remove CCG rule to be played between divisions.
Also not against going to 16 and 4 pods

Are you talking just one sport or how the programs perform as a whole?
If it was me I would look at this first and mix the teams up by how they perform as an athletic program. I would start with this to judge how they should be split. Very narrow minded to consider just 1 sport.

Aren't divisions only Football?

Not sure. But your post does say only Football. Not sure how you have football teams in 1 division and other sports in another.

A
Arkansas
Lsu
Mizzou
Ole Miss
Miss State
B
Bama
Tennessee
Florida
Vandy
Auburn
C
Georgia
South Carolina
Texas A&M
Kentucky
Play the teams in your division and have one permanent from the other two divisions (or just 2 permanents from outside your division) Rotate home/home series with the remaining teams. Move to 9 game conference schedule. Best two conference records meet in Atlanta, although the SECCG seems counterproductive with a playoff system.
