I may be wrong, but I heard that 18 yr olds can buy and consume alcohol as long as it is on base?

It used to be that way, but thanks to MADD, since the mid-eighties, Federal law requires military installation commanders to adopt the same drinking age as the state the military base is located in.

The father of a young woman in my church has been a major supporter and seeking legislation to make pot legal. The one thing is, once you meet him you do see the effects of long term, much use of marijuana. I have mixed feelings about this.

Frequent long term use of anything can be bad. Even if someone needs something for pain on a regular basis can become addicted to drugs. The addicts are the minority. I support the same laws for alcohol being applied to Pot. We need the tax revenue, that's why I'm thinking it may pass someday soon.

Exactly. I read an article of the billions of dollars the U.S. is missing out on by not legalizing, growing, and selling marijuana. I say hand it over to the ATF and there will be no damage done.

And what will our government do with that money but waste it like they do so much of our money.

Yeah. But it'll give those people in places like kentucky and west virginia something to do other than decay.

The tax argument is just to give the government a reason to change it. The reality is (well my opinion of reality at least), it shouldn't be illegal in the first place.

So it seems that most if not all who posted on this subject have no problem with legalization. I surely don't. I can't smoke because of drug tests at work. I have read many opinions on other sites that are the same as the ones here. I say put it up for a vote. I bet it would pass.

I don't see it affecting players anymore than alchohol. Would you think they could play better after a great night of sleep (after smoking and munching out) or a hangover?

It would affect them this way.

80% would be late for class, grades drop on average a point, each player gains about 10 to 15 pounds, we drop from #6 in the rankings to #36 in the rankings here, and we have about 13 more penalties a game for really dumb shite.

Before all the pot heads jump on me, NO you don't work better when you're high and NO you're not more awake and alert when you're high.

I would never make that claim. This was empirically proven by years of...err...extensive research studies...conducted by my colleagues and I at Auburn University in the early to mid-nineties.
