I really hope you guys don't go crazy and overreact to this win...proclaiming national title run and the like.

You should beat them. It's a 8 win Big 12 team.

Right, and Mizzou should have beaten a 4 win Big 10 team, but we all know how THAT turned out.

I'll be ecstatic. I hate the Sooners and them beating Alabama was super annoying to listen to.

I hope y'all do win. Would love to see y'all beat Bama.

A strong Tennessee is good for LSU because of who yalls permanent rival is.

What is your point? Teams lose games they shouldn't all the time.

I don't see what that has to do with UT beating OU. It's really a no lose situation for you. The national media is stupid. OU will still be thought of as a national power even though they are but a shell of that. Lose and the narrative will be...ahhh, UT is still young. Not yet on the level of a great team like OU. Nothing to be ashamed of. They'll get better. Win and the narrative will be.....ZOMG!!!! UT is back baby!

Playing "helmet teams" that aren't up to par is the greatest thing you can do. I wish OU was on our schedule. I'll tell you that.

Yall should win this game, and I certainly hope you do.

I hope UT does beat OU. I'm ready for the rivalry to mean something again.

That's my point exactly. I think we can win this game. Whether we will is an entirely different question. Too many variables. I don't know just how effective OU's offense will be against our defense yet. I don't have nearly enough information.

Glad to see someone with sense. Considering this is an SEC West dominated board, you would think everyone except Alabama fans would be hoping that Tennessee returns to top tier status.

Why does Florida hate us? It's not like we're a threat. The last time we beat them George W. Bush was in his first term and all of the Gator fans here were still learning how to tie their shoes. It's true that some of them are now in their 40s and still learning, but they'll get it.

We have always hated one another. Spurrier set the tone for that hate and unlike with Bama there was never a mutual respect developed to offset the hate. I mean sure UT and Bama hate each other but there's a begrudging respect there too. Not so with UF-UT which is kinda weird given that Ray Graves was born in Knoxville, a Vol fan/player/team captain and Neyland Disciple. He even coached his first job with the Vols. And Graves certainly wasn't the only one.

I think if we'd played more prior to expansion/Steve some respect could've developed. But it never did.

Their offense worked y'all over this year, and looks to be a lot better, IMO. If y'all win, it will be a high scoring game.

I think our OL will be pretty key in this. A big part of our struggles last year against OU is because we had no time to pass protect. The OL is still expected to be the glaring weakness for the Vols this year, but if they can get it to even a serviceable level Tennessee could beat Oklahoma.

Y'all saying you expect it surprise me. You definitely have more certainty than many of us. I know tRant thinks we think we'll be tWorldbeaters but that's just not true of us and when we've been straight up asked we've said 8-4 is what we're hoping for with a few exceptions.

That said, we're confident in one thing: no game is a sure loss for is this year. Last year, OTOH, OU was considered a sure loss ahead of time (among others) by most of us. THAT is the big difference, imo.

Honestly, at this point, if the Vols don't win 9 or 10 games it will be a failure. You can't be an underdog if someone endorses you daily. I think at first, experts were picking Tennessee to make them look unique and so that they could "call" the resurgence, but now everyone is doing it. I want Mizzou to win because that's hilarious, but the Vols seem to be a top 2 favorite to win so they better take care of it outside of conference as well.
