Stop posting. Newton was the second string Qb. Dumb.

They aren't fake, so much as they are expert's best educated guesses.

Sometimes even the experts are wrong.

Cam Newton was not the Cam Newton we know now when he was at UF.

He was busy stealing laptops back then.

Who was Hernandez backup? Charles Manson or Ted Bundy?

It's pretty obvious Cam plays better when there's money involved.

A lot of guys become great passers in one year of junior college. Right?

A lot of guys have something click from one year to the next in CFB, especially QB's.

Same reason Tom Brady was almost not drafted and Ryan Leaf was almost taken over Peyton Manning

Evaluating talent is an inexact science.

Exactly same reason this actually really was a discussion for some absurd reason...

And as a Mizzou fan I was horrified for what unlucky franchise would waste a high pick on Gabbert.

ESPN recently had an article about the rise and fall of Floorida under Urban Meyer. Article described Cam as lazy and entitled during his time at Florida. He became more disciplined and focused after leaving Florida

This.. Why can't people understand Cam was immature a-hole at Florida? He matured enough after leaving UF to have a great season at Auburn and it took a few more years in the pros before he matured enough to be a leader for the Panthers. People change a lot from 18 to mid to late 20's.

He didn't. Cam was caught cheating multiple times. Urban was hoping to keep him shelved for a couple of years until he needed him.

By the time Tebow left, Newton was in trouble and left for JC because of the laptop theft. I don't think Brantley and Newton ever had a competition.

Newton left a year before Tebow did. John Brantley was the #2 behind Tebow and Cam would not have been kicked out had he been Tebow's heir

God, that QB depth chart was stacked.

1. Tim Tebow - one of the GOAT cfb players.
2. Cam Newton - future #1 overall pick, one of the greatest college seasons ever.
3. John Brantley - consensus 5*, most prolific HS QB in FL history.

Say what you want about Urban Meyer, he can recruit QB like nobody's business
