I think we've all seen different types.

I've taken upper level college classes with a football player who took it very seriously and was very enjoyable to be around in a classroom setting. That guy is doing well today and has a good job. He was also a starter, not just some benchwarmer.

On the other hand, I've seen others (99% of the time) sleep through class and not give a crap. They typically sit together and goof off.

I worked for an academic advisor at lsu and you wouldnt be surprised at what most of the athletes take while at the school. Its all bull shite classes where its an easy A(for good students) and attendance isnt required.

Seems like LSU has some problems then with their school system.

Very few SEC football and basketball players take classes seriously, even though most of the graduate.

My football and basketball students at a Division III college all think they are going to "DA LEAGUE" and that big colleges overlooked them, even though very few Division III athletes go pro.

Baseball, softball, volleyball - hit and miss. Don't necessarily have the "I dont care because Im going pro" attitude, but some just aren't cut for college.

However, the country club sport athletes are usually pretty good students.
