Media wishful thinking. The media has been trying to declare USC "back" every year based on nothing.

Helton is a terrible coach.

USC will go at best 5-7

they run a pro style offense with a statue at quarterback, it was never going to be a close game

I think a well coached and disciplined team would of made a game of it especially with a true freshman quarterback and 2 turnovers. We looked good and our defense is the best around imo but I'm glad we weren't playing Houston or OSU...ETC.

Agree. Watching the game again, we have a lot of things to work on offensively. The OL looked much better the second half, so hopefully that is a portent of things to come. And Hurts has a long way to go to be a championship caliber QB. Not 100? certain that the competition is over.

Very glad for the win; especially against a media darling like Southern Cal. But it was the least impressive offensive performance in a blowout I can remember.

This was also a big part of it, much like Michigan State last year.

Teams that run conventional offenses against Alabama under Saban not only always lose but usually lose badly.

Has Cowherd offered any opinions on the game? He loves him some west coast football and hates Bama.

Helton is a rookie coach. USC's athletes didn't have the heart to keep going. You could see a noticeable drop-off in effort. That combined with Kiffin wanting to run up the score against his former employer resulted in the 52-6 blowout.

Alabama is great football team. They outmatched USC, USC quit, and Alabama ran the score up.

I expect WKU to give Alabama a good effort. It could be one of those days where Alabama makes some mental errors and give WKU an edge for a while, but I still see a blowout along the lines of 50ish Alabama to 20 max for WKU.

Obviously USC wasn't what the experts thought they were

Remember these are the same experts that have UT top 10 team heading for the playoffs.

I'll say that Helton at USCw was only a tiny bit better than Muschamp at USCe as far as awful hirings go.

Usc did have good athletes. Bama just had more of them. Jackson was all over the field and looked like the fastet player. He pretty much shut down Calvin Ridley. JuJu(USC) was shut down by Fitzpatrick(Bama).USC's plan was to taake away Ridley and OJ Howard. The glaring difference between the two teams was coaching. Bama started the game sloppy and then methodically worked it out(good adjustments). USC started strong and actually won the first quarter, but when Bama smacked then back, they folded(didn't eveb seem to know the term "in game adjustments". That being said Jackson never quit and was flying all over the field chased down Harriss twice from behind.(would've been td's against most teams). Bama has blown out a lot SEC teams over the last decade. Not a one just laid down like that. That was the worst display of USC coaching I have ever seen. USC is garbage and we will have to wait two weeks to see how good Bama really is.

What happened is obvious. Very talented yes. They just happen to be a bunch of pussified prima donnas. They quit. When things got tough they bent over and took it. This new coach of theirs might not finish the year.

Told my wife after Hurts' first TD pass to put us up 7-3 that we had scored enough points to win the game already.

I dont think they are bad, I just think the stage was too big for them nobody on that has played in a game that big, then you have bama who's use to that type of game even with a freshman QB

Has Cowherd offered any opinions

I'm sure he jumped off a bridge when the Barnett bomb to Dieter went off.

USC was not nearly as overrated as its cross-town rival, UCLA. Holy shite, that team was grossly overrated. That team was Notre Dame overrated.

Dear Allah, I relish the thought of that insufferable motherfricker watching that game. I wish he would have blown a hole through the side of his empty hat rack.

I know this. That was some pompous mf' s. They were talking shite to our players in warm ups.

Meh, they're ok. Pretty fast, fairly good size. Thing I noticed most was depth. Still don't have any. Not in our class. SC was sooooo pumped with emotion. Emotion lasts for a quarter and a half then u have to play. U need intensity, Not emotion in football.

I can see that.

USC has talent at skill positions but not enough talent in the trenches. Plus they have a new HC in his first game

W. Kentucky has their own system that seems to be working for them
