Seems like you're bitter about Florida fans being bitter? I'm actually not bitter. I'm more mad at this Florida team not playing up to their potential. But it's fun to troll you guys a little bit. You seem to really bite when it occurs.

I'm thinking Calipari will be at Kentucky for many more years.

Well, it's good to know at least one Gator fan cares enough about their basketball program to get upset about this season. I've always marveled at the lack of passion Gator fans have demonstrated for the program under Donovan.

I think that's why Billy D. won't leave UF. He has never liked the fishbowl he'd be subjected to at higher-profile programs.

I don't expect him to take the pay cut...

from June 2014:
John Calipari and the University of Kentucky have agreed to a seven-year, $52.5 million contract extension, the school announced Thursday.

Calipari has led the Wildcats to a national championship, three Final Fours and four Elite Eight appearances in five seasons as the Kentucky men's basketball coach. He was the subject of great speculation during the Wildcats' 2014 run to the national championship game as a number of NBA head coaching positions came open.
The deal comes two days after Alabama agreed to a contract extension with football coach Nick Saban that will pay him $6.9 million a year for the next eight seasons. For the 2014 season, Saban's agreement will make him of the nation's most highly paid public employees as well as one of the most highly paid people in American higher education.

However, Calipari is scheduled to surpass Saban's basic compensation total in the second season of his new deal. Calipari's total compensation from the school will rise to $7 milllion, from the $6.5 million he will get for the 2014-15 campaign.

p.s. I just bolded the Saban comment for the Bama fans...

Coach has goals at UK. He has accomplished his first, to win an NC. He also wants to coach an undefeated team. That could happen this year.

He's also a family man. He's quite happy in Lexington, his salary is higher than he could get in the NBA and he has set up a system that funnels the very best basketball recruits to UK.

I can see him staying at UK until he's 60, maybe longer if his system produces results like 2012 and this year more consistently. He's got a great gig and he knows it.

I agree, recruits want to play for him and there is no higher profile gig than the one he has.

I do see him retiring before he's too old, I bet no more than 60. When does his son graduate?

He has said that he doesn't want to coach past 60. However, he's having fun after getting his hip replacement last year. He's building a program that could become a dynasty. I can't see him leaving as long as it's fun for him.

His son Bradley is in the 2016 class. He's at a prep school this season in Massachusetts. He isn't a prospect for UK, however. He's been looking at schools like East Tennessee State.

He's like Saban in that he's realized he's meant to be a college coach, I think.

I do think the NCAA would love to take him down, but can they? I dunno.

Yeah, I do think he's enjoying it now, and him and UK are a perfect match for each other. Could be around for quite a few more years.

I wonder if that phone conversation ever took place. Looks like the NCAA had no firm proof and was wanting Calipari to incriminate himself. How are there no follow up letters to this?

How long before Donovan bolts for an NBA job? UF won't even fly his team to games. Magic have an opening?
