Not really, but that's what it will feel like to you.

I wonder if Saban will keep coaching because he's worried about Urban Meyer catching him in national championships similar to how Paterno and Bowden kept coaching so long because they wanted to have the total wins record. Also, Saban's only had one undefeated season and has never had that one great team that will be remembered throughout history like a 1995 Nebraska or 2001 Miami. Having another undefeated season with a really special team would really help solidify his GOAT case.

He will keep coaching until his mind and body can't take it anymore. I wouldn't be surprised to see 4 or 5 more years from Saban. He's still in great shape.

His NFL counterpart, Bill Bellichick, on the other hand, looks exhausted on the sidelines these days and probably only has a couple seasons left.

I'd say he's got 5-10 more years of dominance in him.

How much longer does Saban coach?

According to Kirby Smart, a long time.

quote:

“He will coach for a long time, I do believe that,” Smart said of Saban, “because he likes it, he’s passionate about it, he’s very healthy, he takes care of his body and he hasn’t slowed down a bit, I promise you that.”

According to Saban himself, until he's 80 - so about 15 more years.
quote:

“You know my mother had a hole-in-one when she was 80. I’ve never had one. So I’m thinking I have 16 more good years of golf, and if I can play golf I should be able to coach.”

i have followed college football for over a half century, 56 years to be exact....i started at the age of 6, and i have no qualms about saying that saban is the best college football coach that ever lived....i have noticed that he is speaking a little bit more philosophically lately, and is not quite the a-hole that he normally was in the past....he seems to be transforming from middle age, to old man and is catching a glimpse of his own mortality....i have reached that point and if you dumbasses on this board manage to live that long, you'll understand,too....just a guess, but if he wins it all (and i think he will)i look for this year to be his last....
