is paying helping or hurting your recruiting so far?

Now that we're getting players "a little something" as the ole ball coach put it, you know for helping families travel to games, (WHY IT WOULD NEVER be used for lapdances, tats, gold crowns and other bling, that would NEVER HAPPEN RIGHT?)

Heres what the breakdown looks like:

1. $5,666 - Tennessee
2. $5,586 - Auburn
3. $5,126 - Mississippi State
4. $4,500 - Ole Miss
5. $4,151 - South Carolina
6. $4,002 - Arkansas
7. $3,664 - Missouri
8. $3,320 - Florida
9. $3,096 - LSU
10. $2,892 - Alabama
11. $2,780 - Vanderbilt
12. $2,706 - Texas A&M
13. $2,598 - Georgia
14. $2,284 - Kentucky

according to 247

compared with the B1Gs:

Penn State: $5,748
Wisconsin: $5,306
Maryland: $4,154
Nebraska: $3,854
Indiana: $3,736
Rutgers: $3,592
Ohio State: $3,128
Northwestern: $3,079
Illinois: $2,900
Michigan State: $2,870
Michigan: $2,452
Iowa: $2,378
Minnesota: $2,200
Purdue: $1,910

per these guys

just curious do you feel like your schools "pay to play" is working for or against you?

A lot on Rivals, not much on the field. Need pay for play here at A&M.

I didn't read the OP.

Yeah I was making a joke about how our bagmen aren't doing a good enough job for on the field performance, but I realized that you were talking about something completely different.

I ran with it anyway.

I was already aware of our ranking, which I why I chose to say not stellar.

Victory Land is opening and ATM cards about to blow that 5000 number up. We should end up in top 10 or better.

I haven't paid a lot of attention to this story, really. Is there a max amount right now?

yea looks like Mizzou is trying to stay "adequate" in competitive comparison. I know some kids wills scoff at the notion this would affect their decision, yet we know that extra pocket change of a few hundred a month is going to matter to some others.

Obviously the SEC will be as competitive as any conference in this area, the SECN will provide that ability, and schools that have a short fall will wind up eating the difference in the facility arms race or otherwise not compete.

Another reason you should all be more than happy to be in the SEC.

I believe there is a cost of living and comparative travel cost analysis being done, but for the most part, schools are just pulling numbers out of their arse and pretending they aren't coated in shite.

Makes sense. I'll guess once a firm maximum has been established, most schools will go up to it.

Depends on what kind of paying we're talking about. There's so many under the table transactions going on in the SEC it's impossible to keep track. Interest free loans, new cars, envelopes of cash. College football recruiting is all about being the best cheater.
