That's where the I would like comes into play. I don't really care either about USC. If not, hell, they won 2 CWS's.

I just can't see them keeping up what they have after Spurrier leaves. If Spurrier had another 6-8 good years in him i could see it.
I get what you're saying and all but come on, 50 years is a long damn time. The next great coach wouldn't even have to be born by now. We came fairly close in '84 so its hard to imagine us not getting at least that close again sometime in the next five decades.
I'll say we'll win at least one between now and 2053. If not, I will have lived my whole life without seeing my favorite team not be the best college football team for that year and I will haz a sad. :(

As we (USC fans) know with baseball, the first one is the toughest one! Here's to hoping!

I was thinking about that the other day. I hope there is a push at some point that leads football back a couple steps. May never happen and it may become ultra pussified but one can dream.

You're probably right. The NHL has almost been completely ruined imo. I miss pre-lockout hockey sooooo much.

In the next 50 years.

Alabama will have 3-10
LSU/UF will have 2-6
AU/UGA/Tenn/A&M will have 1-3

Honestly I think when the playoff is installed the SEC will absolutely dominate. The breed of athlete in this part of country is on a whole different level. With the Texas connections now there's no one in the foreseeable future that will slow down our juggernaut.

Just for the hell of it I'll throw exact figures

Bama will win 8 Damn gumps are showing no signs of slowing down
UF will win 5 Recruiting grounds are entirely too fertile not to take home some ships, as long as they stay the top dog in their state they'll compete for the title
LSU will win 4 Just too much talent in the state (Most NFL players per capita), as long as LSU has a coach that can keep a fence up around the state we'll be in the mix, year in year out
AU will win 2 They have a dominant team ever 10-15 years
Tenn/A&M/UGA win 1 Just respect for the programs)

As far as the next one to win it I would put my money on Bama, but I'll go homer here and say LSU in '15. The SEC dominance finally catches up to us and we beat each other up too much next year and Ohio State and Oklahoma play for the National Title in '14.

I would swap Auburn and Tennessee or put them in the same category.

Honestly, I think we (SCAR) will win one before Georgia wins another. The pieces are beginning to fall in place. I really believe we will win one sooner rather than later - I really do.

I just don't see it. Forget about tradition and such. College Football is all about recruiting. UGA has yet to put a fence around the state, for many reasons. If and when that big name coach comes in, I think the allure to play for UGA will cement a nice run. Our backyard is full of talent. Once UGA stops with the lazy late offers and increases the recruiting staff, it's on.

oh and 7-35

It's only been 2 years since Auburn won so you need to cross them off the 50 year list.

Why do Auburn fans always talk about this fictional "Big 6?"

Totally irrelevant. College football (and the NFL) will be dead in 25 years. The death knell will come after a kid dies on the field from a bad collision. Lawsuits will bring down the NFL first, then CFB.

But in that 25 years, the only SEC teams that have a shot are Bama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, A&M, and Auburn. Why Auburn? Because the last couple of weeks have proven that the NCAA has no teeth and now is the time to cheat like hell.

Ignoring my offer?

He must be. Funny I had an OM fan ignore the same offer from me. Everyone is so confident that we are "declining" but no one will ante up on a ban bet. Sounds like people are re-thinking our "rebuilding" year. This is wise on their part. The Cam Cameron hire WAS a game changer for us.

Probably about 8 of them- LSU, Bama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, A&M, South Carolina could all make runs. Heck, Arky too, so make it 9.
Some sooner than later- LSU or Bama might be within a year or 2.
SC--> I get the feeling Spurrier will get it done and then retire; this is just a feeling based on the coach, and not the team (although he does have talent there).
Rest- have the resources and sooner or later break through.

Sleeper pick- if they decide to go all ape-shite with making the game "safe", I could see Vandy winning a couple once the game is reduced to 2 hand touch, seriously. And that's not a flame, it's in response to what's currently happening in the NFL and will filter down

As for Natties over the next 50 years, I would look at the past 50 years and use the same numbers.

Past 50 years? AU = 1 UA = 9

Sounds goooood to me.
