That typically happens because football players don't know how to get good starts out of a track stance.

Ford, however, ran track in HS. I don't think he'll have a problem demonstrating his speed. I really don't.

I hope you're right about Nealy! He's undersized for the position but Holy Cow he's passionate, and it rubs off on others.

I think (hope) Nwachukwu, Porter, Stewart, Mathis and maybe Harris will all be drafted, but I don't know if any will play. Michael could if he wasn't such an apparent head case.

Joeckel Moore Swope and Porter for sure. Some other guys like Nealy And Stewart are possible. I doubt Epperson gets picked

I don't know about these, especially BS. Smith isn't very big and the knock on him during his career (or at least, the first 3 years) has been he's not very physical.

With CW, he might go just because he's a physical specimen and he's from UGA, but he has virtually no production to speak of.

Smith will make scouts take notice of his speed at the combine. Someone will take a chance on him in late rounds on the 2nd day. 4.2 speed doesn't lie...

case in point

CW didn't have much production simply because he was a square peg in a round hole in Grantham's 3-4. He is a physical freak that will also get picked up in the late rounds by a 4-3 team that needs a DE.

Trust me, they should both get drafted, albeit late on the 2nd day.

Order of players getting picked (cutoff line TBD)

Joeckel
Moore
Porter
Lewis
Swope
Nealy
Nwachukwu
Michael
Stewart
Mathis
Harris
Terrell
McNeal
Epperson
Lamothe

Keep in mind the 1998 team had 8 players drafted in the 1999 draft and not one was a 1st rounder:

Dat Nguyen
Warrick Holman
Semisi Heimuli
Rich Coady
Sirr Parker
Dan Campbell
Rex Tucker
Chris Valletta

There's more draft worthy talent going into this draft from A&M than the 1998 senior class.

Im guessing Nealy is going to pull a Von during all the camps and surprises everyone.

EZ will get picked after the draft
Epperson has been decent and did good job pinning teams
I like Porter to be a bubble guy.
Stewart and Mathis I'm not sure about.
Michael will get picked up by Sherman after the draft
Harris is a horrific CB

Before the season, Porter was projected to be a late-1st round pick. I think he goes 3rd round at worst.

The reason I have EZ before CMike is because of his measurables:

1. You will probably be surprised by his vertical at the combine (especially for a 6'0 receiver)

2. Great hands

3. Faster than advertised.

I think the combine will open up a lot of eyes on EZ Nwachukwu's draft potential.

11 players from LSU get drafted with Shep, Hurst, and wing missing the mark. I believe lonergan gets drafted late in the 7th
