To be honest I think we have too many satellite campuses that just take up more funding. Would rather cut back give more funding to the remaining campuses, while also strengthening the community college system.

I know they aren't in the SEC but Penn State has something obnoxious like 19 satellite campuses.

That is lightweight stuff. Troy has satellite campuses not only in Alabama, but in other states too, and worldwide.

That's the truth. I was looking at getting a graduate degree from Troy while living in Missouri.

Alabama has UA Hunstville and UA Birmingham. They are separate schools, but part of the UA system.

I was talking to a guy on another forum from south Florida. He was thinking about enrolling to either finish up his BS or get is Masters, I can't remember which.

We have a UGA campus in Griffin but other than that we don't really have anything. I'm glad about it too.

My boss in Atlanta is the one who pointed me in that direction. I never knew about how spread out you guys were. He went to Auburn for undergrad and then got a graduate degree in business after he moved to Atlanta without ever having to leave the city. I have a Criminal Justice degree but work in business sales/management now and would like to brush up on my business background. Getting a graduate degree in business from Troy looks like a good idea so far because I can move and still keep taking the classes uninterupted.

you don't go to Penn St. as a freshman.(unless you are almost ivy league material) You have to go to a satellite for two years and then start at Penn. St. your junior year if you are in a certain top % of all the students from the satellite campuses.

We also have a campus in Southaven. And we don't have a campus in Batesville, it's in Booneville.

A&M (assuming the conference switch goes through) has two satellite campuses. One is A&M-Galveston which gives the university access to the GOM for Oceanography, drilling, etc. The other, A&M-Qatar, is in the Middle East as a connection to the petroleum industry, international business, etc. I'm generally not a fan of a university having satellite campuses, but both of A&M's are very useful to the university's academic programs.

Yeah with their own set of nicknames and all.

I only mentioned Upstate because they are the only one I here about that doesn't mind playing "the big boys" in basketball and baseball.
