SEC has run shite the past 8 years. Period. But what is yall's opinion on if/when that will change? Or will it?

Part of me feels like it has to change at some point, right? Obviously the SEC will always been a top tier conference but I am just wondering if anyone will give us a serious consistent run for the title of best football conference in America.

Thoughts?

We have the best facilities, hot bed for talent and simply care more

We shouldn't ever fall farther than 2

It will be interesting the day the PAC 10 fanbase as a whole cares more.

The thought of all of those billionaires from Stanford, UCLA and USC investing in their programs is a scary thought.

Yes very true. It'll be interesting to see where USC is playing their games in 10-15 yrs. I assume they will eventually build something new and get out of the LA Coliseum.

With Bama / LSU bringing back such strong classes - I doubt the SEC gets left out this year...

If it had happened the projected Pac 16 would definitely have given the SEC a run for its money. Now, the only league I see coming close is the new Big 10. They have four great programs in Michigan, Ohio State, Nebraska and Penn State with pretty solid depth after that. They're also the only conference that rivals the SEC in making money. In fact, the Big 10 makes more money than the SEC but that could all change if the SEC can create their own network. A sleeper conference is the ACC. They're the only conference that can come close to the SEC from a talent standpoint and have two programs who can match if not exceed the best the SEC has to offer in Miami and Florida State.

What he said.

However, say we go and get A&M, UNC, VT, and someone like FSU/Louisville/Clemson...we will be just fine.

The Big 10 is really good now. I would tend to put Wisconsin in that great category... at least based on recent performance. Michigan State and Iowa add to that depth you mention.

That whole conference is pretty damn good. It is a bit harder to recruit up north and Ohio State may hit some sanctions but the Big 10 is a good smashmouth conference.

The only way another conference surpasses the SEC is when we all end up on probation at the same time for multiple years.

I dont see anything changing any time soon, and I actually think the SEC could get even better if schools continue to recruit the best players nation wide. Old powerhouses like Penn. St. Michigan, USC, Nebraska aren't what they once were.

The Pac-12 is trying to catch up.

There is a lot more commitment to FB out here than we have had in a long time. Oregon is leading the way with Nike money, and everyone else is realizing how far we have dropped behind with facilities, alumni commitment, etc.

HS football in the area had dropped to a low point in the 90's, but it is making a comeback. If it continues to grow, all of the Pac-12 schools will grow accordingly with the rising talent pool.

As long as we have tFlagship the SEC will be tops.

Never.Another Conference may win 2-3 NCs in a Decade but as long as the BCS doesn't penalize the SEC for beating up on each other I think the NCG goes through Atlanta.

Miami will never be a contender as long as Shalala is their President. Never. SMU will return to glory first.

Long-term demographics favor the south. People vote with their feet and until other areas of the country resolve their tax burden issues, and labor laws this trend will continue.
