people complaining about lsu are being stupid. ALL of this could have been avoided if fla had just done what EVERYONE else did and played last weekend. the gators were the cause, everything else was effect.

Of all the internet message sports that discuss college football, I guarantee you this is the only one making LSU out to be the bad guy

It actually depends on how many of them had 1000 threads started by LSU fans complaining about the game. Guys, it gets tiring. Congratulations on starting yet another one.

Fired your best coach in school history after only 2 close losses and then refused to play Florida unless it was a home game.

I LOVE internet message sports. What message sport are you into?

I like IMBall - it's like football, but uses ICQ!

Especially the fans of teams who have lost to us in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 etc. Sorry Aggie, but your perma-melt sustains us in our time of need.

That's what you guys keep saying but Sanke thanked Foley only. He didn't say anything about Alleva. And Foley said you guys weren't even trying to negotiate. Foley is one of if not the most respected AD in the country. Alleva is one of the least. Karma is a bitch and I'm betting you guys don't get an upper tier coach. Orgeron is your ceiling.

I'm shocked that a Gump would melt down about LSU. Shocked.

Facts:
quote:

Last Thursday, Florida was painting everyone into a corner with a hard hit from Matthew looking like a grim possibility for Gainesville. This after, during talks among the schools and the SEC on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Florida was adamant that the game could be played there last Saturday.

No contingencies were apparently considered, like the ones offered by LSU to play Sunday or Monday in Gainesville, or to move the game to Tiger Stadium on either of those days or Saturday. Florida wanted no part of it — not because it wanted to duck LSU but out of sheer stubbornness, and the SEC didn’t twist a Gator arm.

...

Neither the SEC nor Florida have explained why the Tigers and Gators couldn’t have played this past Sunday or Monday if — and that's a HUGE if — the hurricane didn’t jog west and slam Gainesville with a lot of storm damage. If that had happened, had Matthew roared through Gainesville with 90-mph wind or some such, well, the game could have been canceled and everyone would have understood.

As it is, there is no answer to that question. The only answer is it was Florida, not LSU, that was unwilling to bend.

LSU is not the bad guy.

The best thing to do is ignore the trolls.

They know how rabid the LSU fan base is, so they're just jerking the chain.

Foley and Sankey's statements about the compromise is a sure sign that they know they screwed up.

You're right. You can go back to cock gobbling the toothless trailer living Bama fans on here who have never sniffed a classroom at Bama, much less a college classroom period.

LSU will still be irrelevant at the end of the season...

I don't see LSU as the "bad guys" in this situation either...

Florida

Gators will
play LSU, no thanks to Alleva
Written by Nick de la Torre, Gatorcountry.com

The Florida Gators will lose a home game in 2016. They’ll lose two home games worth of ticket sales as well and the true economic impact that it will have to the city of Gainesville is unknown.

At the end of the day, LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva crossed his arms, threw a tantrum like a child and refused to be amenable during negotiations with Florida and SEC commissioner Greg Sankey. That was apparent when Sankey thanked Florida, not LSU, for making this happen and more so when Foley released a statement saying:

“We made this decision to play the game in Baton Rouge,” Foley said in a statement. “The conference office asked us to find a solution in working with LSU, yet LSU was never a true partner in our discussions. The Southeastern Conference offered some other solutions and the LSU administration made it clear that they were unwilling to consider other reasonable options.”

That is why!

LSU's responses by the university is not criticized from most of the threads I've seen. It's the LSU melt that is nuts, calling them UForfeit and all the conspiracy theories and complaints. Standard response from the fanbase - nobody melts like LSU fans.
