If you're a 6'4" receiver with eligibility, I can make that happen.

What has Kirby Smart ever done besides signal in Saban's defense?

Stare of Ga produces 2 1/2 times the D1 signees as Louisiana and the only other P5 school is GT.

Yea KS has amped it up a bit but EVERY coach at UGA recruits good.

Georgia always recruits well and Kirby is getting all the instate talent. As much as I hate to admit it, its a great school and fun to be around. They will always recruit well.

Georgia produces lots of talent. GT sucks, SC sucks, Tenn sucks, and Florida doesn't recruit anymore.

Wondering myself. Georgia is a sleeping Giant no doubt. I just thought this year was a little rough for UGA. To me it should leave doubts in the minds of recruits. Yet they are lining up. Saban defensive assistants are difficult to gauge as far as their abilities because Saban is the mastermind in that dept.

Georgia produces a ton of talent, so the pool is there. Kirby's assistants must be working the magic.

With the right coach, UGA is a powerhouse. I just don't think Kirby is that guy.

It's still only first year, so we will see.

Talent rich state with absolutely no competition for recruits from any other in state school.

Can we end this shite? We have more P5 title winners around us than any other state. Who cares if we don't have a good team in state when we have AU, Bama, UT, FSU, UF, Clemson and others all within a decent drive of our borders. Can anyone else say that?

Its absurd to think that its not an advantage.Would you
rather be a school in Tenn,SC or Alabama that has to go to Ga to get recruits?

You don't think its a HUGE advantage for LSU to keep all that in state talent?

Did I say it wasn't an advantage? No, but let's not act like we can just shut down the border with so many great teams that can recruit at a high level. It's a weak argument to say we don't have another team to compete with in state.

And the kids in La grew up there as LSU fans. The kids in Ga are most likely transplants or their parents are. They didn't really grow up UGA fans, especially in Merton Atlanta.

No person in the country has better, more established relationships with the coaches in the state of Georgia than Kirby.

I don't think you think it's much of one.

Perhaps but would you really want to have P5 powerhouse team in-state to compete against?

UGA OWNS metro Atlanta these days especially with HOPE. Yea,some kids fit your scenerio but most I know that grew up here still became loyal fans especially if they went school there.

Because Kirby has no problem doing things Richt wouldn't do. The bagman is back in town. It's the early 80's all over again!

This is true, but UGA should still be doing more, IMO (I'm sure you feel the same).

While you do have solid recruiting competition, you're still the state school. UGA runs GA, the most influential state in the deep south. Moreover, you've got one of the best college towns in America to sell, a good academic reputation, a great party school reputation, hot girls, good greek life, etc.

UGA, put more bluntly, has not done a good enough job selling the brand. There is really no reason for UGA not making itself into Texas-light when it comes to creating an appeal to college bound teenagers (athletes and non-athletes alike).

When I think about great all around American colleges, I think Texas and Virginia. Obviously for different reasons, but they're iconic schools that run important states and have a bunch of things to sell. I think UGA has that too, in its own way.

I agree with pretty much everything. I don't think we can be a nation brand like the other two though.
