Because somehow high school football players aren't as retarded as SEC Rant posters.

Alabama finished 7-6 in 2007 and recruited about 3-4 all pros and a #1 recruiting class in 2008.

Once people start realizing that winning isn't the only thing recruits care about, they'll stop making these threads.

Plus, it's an easy sell "you can step in right away and help us win consistently again. you can be a part of that."

Process of elimination. Think about it, if you were coming out of high school would you want to go to Tennessee right now? Most real men would be too embarrassed to go to Florida after the way they handled trying to forfeit the LSU game. South Carolina?? yeah right. Then these players may not feel like the are good enough to make it at Auburn or Alabama so the only option they have left is Georgia if they want to stay fairly close to home.

New coach bump most likely. Plus the current years team performance has little to do with the new kids.

But their head coach had already won one national title and two SEC titles just a few years earlier. That same coach had spent 2 years as a head coach in the NFL and could promise the players a chance to get to that level.

What has Kirby Smart ever done besides signal in Saban's defense?

Recruit like a madman.

This is why he was hired. Time will tell if it leads to winning big.

Alabama, Auburn, and to a lesser extent TN had been plucking GA talent left and right in years past. Take Rueben Foster for example. Before he moved to Auburn, got an AU tattoo, and later signed with AL he was a GA recruit though still an Alabama native.

Kirby is finally locking down his state's elite talent. While GA had plenty of talent to go around, it seemed the two program's in Alabama were continuing to get their fair share of GA talent that just happened to be positions of weakness under Richt.

New coach hired to recruit at Bama's level....and hopefully coach near that level. New energy, positive momentum.

Could be fools gold, time will tell.

Talent rich state with absolutely no competition for recruits from any other in state school.

If you are from GA and want to stay home and play big boy football, there really is only one option.
