Nick Saban made the LSU football program.
LSU was 26-20-2 vs A&M before Saban, but I guess that doesn't say much.

I think Coach Saban was very important for lsu and also think lsu was very important for Coach Saban. Both needed the other at same time and it worked out well for both parties

Saban put us on the road to beating Texas A&M. What's wrong with that?

Without Saban, modern LSU = modern Tennessee

Using your shitty logic, dinardo should have a statue. Without him, Satan never comes

a LARGE percentage of Tide fans think he came to Tuscaloosa from Baton Rouge. Not even AWARE he was with the Dolphins.

Yep... He built it up from the scraps of the 90's and then he tore it down with a wave of his hands....

What's more odd, is LSU fans seem to begrudge Saban just for going to Alabama
Yes, it is extremely odd LSU fans would begrudge Saban for going to a rival school.
Saban will be liked again at LSU when he retires from Bama.

quote:Nah. But Mark Emmert was responsible for the program's resurgence.
Nick Saban made the LSU football program.

I know this is nothing but a poor troll..
However I am going throw my 2 cents in to say what I think the most important thing Saban did for our program.
IMO, he changed the culture of football program from front office to in someways the fan base.
I would also suggest that Saban benefited from LSU as a coach at least as much as LSU football did from him.

Speaking of who "made" programs... who made A&M?... oh wait Aggie is still irrelevant.

The biggest thing Saban did for LSU was fight all the BS from outside the program and showed that if done right, LSU could be a power.
He also started the facilities upgrade LSU has seen over the last 17 years.
If not for Emmert I doubt LSU would have hired Saban because the AD in place had no clue.
I would also say Emmert probably got a little lucky, because his next hire at Washington was Willingham.
If anything LSU got off cheap with Saban compared to coaching salaries today.

Emmert got lucky with Saban. I don't think he intended to hire that good of a coach.
