I didn't say you had nothing-- just no real claim to be a sleeping giant. Still, it is telling just how few of these achievements are since the beginning of divisional play. 2 divisional titles and a top 3 finish. No, that's not much to hang your hat on, compared to a number of SEC schools.

I like Georgia, a lot. I root for them, whenever possible...but in a game of 'Which of these is not like the others', they're the clearly different one in the 'Big Six'.

Actually we were, pretty much everyone would agree us and LSU were the two best teams that year. And had the media not shite on us for not winning the East we may have been in the natty. We were in 4th when #1 and #2 lost in the same week the day before the final BCS polls came out

It isn't playing for the national title; it isn't breaking the top 2 at any point in the season-- and being 3rd only twice in the 15 weeks of BCS standings. That's how it isn't being a contender. It is being the best of the rest-- and keep in mind, that's the best Georgia team in 30 years.
