Wasn't looking to have a conference vs conference debate. How is a conference down with 7 ranked teams? How was the SEC down relative to itself?

I think it was down because the SEC lost two BCS bowls. We've come to expect the SEC to have 7 ranked teams but also to dominate in games after January. That didn't happen this year. So, I think you are acting a little too defensive. I don't see how this hard to see.

Why because I am asking you questions?

There's more parity now; hence your characterization of down year.

Good point.

Personally think there are 4 team that can compete with the top dogs of the SEC.

Texas (when they are up)
FSU/ Miami
USC (when they get over their sanctions)
OSU

However, the reason the SEC win is because we continue to play each other, we play stronger teams more often.

Oh I am sorry I didn't see where you set up parameters who could participate in the thread. I keep telling myself I need to upgrade to the premium content.

FSU was maybe one of the better all around teams in the BCS era. They met a young Auburn team coming off a 3-9 season the year before, and BARELY won.

Suffice to say, no way FSU goes undefeated in the SEC last year.

Look, the SEC established a high bar for itself. I measure the SEC by it's bowls at the end of the season. Both Auburn and BAMA lost the biggest bowls. That hasn't happened in a long time. Auburn hung with FSU and for that, I give them props. However, that is why I am saying it was down. Can we move on?

2014 should be a banner year for running games and RB's in the SEC. A lot of questions at QB and defensively for several teams. I think 2015 will be a much stronger year for the conference.
