It's like an illusion that everyone who goes to Ole Miss has to be wealthy and from a classy family. Everyone tries to put on this front and if you've ever been to Oxford, it can get old very quick.

An extreme side effect of Oxford is delusion. See UM's championships, morale victories, student population of millionaires, the square, and Oxford being the greatest town in all the world.

I grew up with Memphis fans saying the same shite, but I just laughed.

You have some anger you need to work through?

Southern Miss doesn't steal shite that Ole Miss or State want.

A ton of Mississippi students turn on both Mississippi schools to come to LSU. Not hard to figure out why.

The NCAA recognizes one MNC and that automatically makes us better than you.

I have never really had a problem with any Ole Miss fan in person. Other than maybe some back and forth ribbing that my dad's old fraternity brothers give me when I go eat their food at a game.

Maybe I have just been lucky enough to not run into some super serious/obnoxious fans. I always assumed that the people who whined about Ole Miss being arrogant/snooty/etc were just thin skinned or insecure.

"Ole Miss" has cachet. I think it's the nickname. Nobody wants to go to plain ol' "Mississippi." But when it becomes "Ole Miss," you get images of tradition and elegance, and probably, I don't know, Colonel Sanders visiting from Kentucky or something.

Mississippi State should start a P.R. campaign to rename themselves something like "Beloved Great-Uncle Bubba When He's Sober Mississippi State" so they stand out and appeal to people who have fond memories of their beloved great-uncle Bubba.

Those OM fans do exist and they're usually side walkers

And that type of thinking is exactly why I chose MSU. Nobody gives a freak about a championship that occurred before most of our parents were even born. It's all an illusion that y'all try so desperately to hang on to when nobody (not just State fans) recognize.

This is a stereotype that is hugely overblown by insecure people like you.

I know right? All those damn bears in the media that keep ranking OM and Oxford at the top of whatever list they're making. Delusion!!!

I have never had an Ole Miss fan brag to me about a Vaught championship. Oxford is a nice college town, but would be a boring place to live if you are out of college.

Did you have some Ole Miss fan run you over in a horse and buggy when you visited or something?

From the way people like him talk you would think everyone at State drives a dodge neon and looks at the ground when addressing someone

Yes it's real but it's meaningless and doesn't effect our football team. I really hope the NCAA lays the hammer down y'all. The sooner the better.

Whenever I go home I stop by in Oxford to collect the discarded diamonds off the streets.
