A&M, Tennessee, and LSU

However, Alabama also has a bye week before the LSU game. Seems like both teams have had a bye week prior to the game for several years now

It doesn't matter. Bama always has the softest schedule in the entire SEC.

6 of 8 SEC teams had a bye week before Bama a couple of years ago. Also, MSU has 9 days off before playing Bama this year.

Hadn't got that rule changed yet, what with trying to ban Auburn's offense the past two offseasons. I'm sure it is coming.

You don't get to gloat about how great your program is, how superior you are to everyone else in the conference and endlessly brag about how many national championships you have...and then bitch and moan when conference opponents respect you enough to want an extra week to prepare. Stop being a pussy.

The SEC makes out the schedule for each of the SEC schools. Since they want SEC games every week they schedule teams without games against SEC opponents throughout the season, and it means some teams will have byes since the season is 13 weeks long and teams only play 12 games. Other schools who can elect to use a bye week to prepare for Alabama. It is a sign of respect for Alabama that teams would like two weeks to prepare to play against them.

The SEC office isn't doing it to punish Alabama. It is just a consequence of the SEC trying to maximize revenue by making sure there are SEC games every week of the season.

But how does it happen?

First the SEC office has to not have an SEC game on the schedule for these teams the week before Bama. From there these teams schedule their OOC games so their bye week falls the week before the Bama game.

It really is pretty simple. The question would be why do all these teams not have an SEC game scheduled the week before Bama? I haven't looked but is the number that don't the week before Bama proportionately different than other SEC teams? If so then why? If not then teams just want their bye before Bama and so be it.

Post Bye-Opponents

Bama serves as the opp. for Tenn., LSU, and A&M
LSU serves as the opp. for Bama and Ole Miss
Auburn serves as the opp. for KY and Ark.

Is it that the office is in Birmingham and they're overcompensating for the perception of bias?

Probably has something to do with the office in Birmingham only having a hand in 8 of the 13 playing dates. Just a hunch though.

Nah, as an LSU fan you are always unhappy.

As a Gump you are too dumb to care.
