he is the best one on the list. he is actually in striking distance of jordan matthews career yardage record if we get into the playoffs, and thats with only 3 seasons instead of 4

True, he is Jerry Rice except a lot faster.

Cooper is, at a minimum, the greatest wide receiver in the history of the world.

Cooper is just excellent at being a wide receiver. He does all the little things right. Is he Julio? No, and he never will be. Julio is freakishly fast for someone with his frame. He's a combination of agility and power that seemingly defies the laws of physics, but Cooper is special. He has that crazy field and body awareness that allows him to make insanely complicated football movements appear intuitive and easy. His instincts are on another level.

Forgive the basketball analogy, Julio is Magic Johnson and Amari is Larry Bird.

What makes one a freak athlete? Are you just talking about size and speed? Cooper can jump like a frog and I would bet his speed is comparable to Julio. No he doesn't have the huge frame of Julio, but to say he isn't a freak athlete, imo is not accurate.

i would call coop a freak. not many guys at any level that are 6'2", run about 4.3, and can jump 38" vert. add in the fact that hes already a better technician than many pro receivers and he is special

I see Cooper get labeled a lot as being a good athlete and elite route runner. That's false. The guy is an elite athlete. He'll run somewhere between a 4.30 and a 4.39 at the combine. He turns into a running back when he gets the ball. He usually breaks the first tackle. His running ability actually reminds me a lot of Allen Iverson in his prime on the basketball court, very sudden in his stop/start move and top speed in 2 steps. He's the best I've ever seen at lulling a DB to sleep, he goes from 75% to 100% speed routinely and that's hard to cover when it only takes him a step.

Best comparison I can think of is Percy Harvin with better hands and better routes. His size, speed, yac ability screams Percy Harvin

Yep. People laugh at the bubble screen stuff, but he gets 5+ yards on 80% of those short hitch throws (we rarely throw bubbles anymore) because he makes a catch and then makes the DB miss almost every single time. Unless the DB is hitting him as he catches the ball he is going to make the guy miss. It's unbelievable how good he is in space.

1) Julio
2) Mike Evans
3) AJ Green/Cooper
4) Odell Beckham Jr
5) Matthews
6) Hunter
7) Landry

That's about how I'd rank them

Good comparison tbh. Both were around 6'0 195-205 lbs

I love Julio (both at Alabama and with the Falcons) and he does things that other guys can't do, but man does he drop a lot of balls.

I don't think he's as good as Greg Childs. That guy was another Michael Irvin.

Based on raw ability (ball skills, speed, size, athleticism, etc.) he is behind Duke Williams in the SEC this year. In the BCS era I would also put him behind Julio Jones, Percy Harvin, AJ Green, and maybe Dwayne Bowe.

I've never seen a college WR as good as Cooper... Julio/AJ will always be neck and neck... AJ for his acrobatic catching ability and Julio for his sheer brute force as a WR.. AJ could catch anything.. Julio would drop routine passes but make the real tough catches (was weird). I doubt AJ could block like Julio from that position possibly no one could.

Landry and ODB aren't even in the discussion but Landry was a tough SOB and would demolish you in special teams. ODB was excellent at high pointing balls and had really good hands.

As far as "pure" WR?

It's Coop hands down... he catches so many passes and gets targeted so much because he's ALWAYS OPEN.. often by 5 or 6 yds on what looks like simple routes but, when you go back and watch the replay and see what he does to defensive backs you're left with your mouth wide open... he could be open by 5 yds on a 5 yard out. Bama was going to be throwing to the backs on check downs a lot this year but Blake hasn't even had to come off his 1st read.. Cooper. In comparison, D. White is probably faster but, when he makes catches the defender is all over him. Even when Sims throws to another WR Cooper is wide open... I've never seen anything like it.. it's like he made the position up.

Someone mentioned Jerry Rice. I am by no means comparing Coop to a top 5 WR of all time. But his game is very similar to the type of receiver Jerry Rice was. Except I would say cooper is more elusive than Rice.

Except for the fact that Cooper is probably closer to 6'0 than he is to 6'2. Every single season schools over report their athletes heights and weights.. then come NFL draft we see that they're all more human than we were told.

Nah I expect Auburn's guys to run 4.1 40's at the combine.

A good example: Alabama listed Trent Richardson at 5'11 224 lbs. At the combine he measured 5'9 225 lbs. Julio was listed by Alabama at 6'4.. NFL combine 6'3.

It's just what athletic departments do for some reason.
