I haven't got a chance to watch him much. He's clearly very, very good. What kind of size does he have? I know he's fast. How are his hands/open field ability?

Where would you rank him amongst recent guys like Julio Jones, AJ Green, Alshon, Hunter, Patterson, Mike Evans, OBJ, Landry, Matthews etc?

Don't rank them based strictly on stats as those are very dependent on more factors outside of the control of the WR. More so raw talent/eye test and then stats after that?

Jesus the rant really loves them some Cooper.

Eta: he is better than all the people you listed.

I'd say he is most similar to Julio but more polished as a receiver.

I think Cooper is a different style of WR. He relies less on his physical attributes and more on smarts and timing. He can get a corner or safety to bite on a fake unlike any other WR I've seen.

I think he's more polished as far as route running than any of the other WR's you've listed, and that's saying a lot considering OBJ and Landry were elite route runners.

ETA: If I just wanted one receiver to run a 9 and catch a jump ball I wouldn't choose Cooper. But 3rd and 12 I'd take him over any of the others.

Is this trolling or serious?

Better than AJ or Julio? Not saying you're wrong, but that's extremely high praise

I'm not going to rank them because that is a waste of time and just cause a flame war thread.

Cooper is a great receiver that can go up and fight for the ball and win and also make the dbs look foolish once he is in the open field. He has great speed and runs as good a route as any receiver that has ever played at Bama. The guy is phenomenal and a pleasure to watch play. Plus he is humble and lets his game do his talking. I hate that he has less than half a season left in a Bama uniform.

Julio is a much more talented player. I would say that he is most similar to ODB. They are smaller receivers (around 6 feet tall) with great speed and great hands and great route running abilities. I think Cooper is slightly better than Beckham, but they have similar styles. Julio is 6'3" 230lbs and can run as fast if not faster than ODB and Cooper.

Cooper imo is better than Julio was in college. We're not talking about what Julio has done since college.

It's my opinion. If given the option this year to take Julio at his college peak or Cooper, I'll pick Cooper every time. People don't have to agree with me and I don't speak for the Alabama fanbase.

Well, he's already having a better year now than either Green or Jones did in 2010.

He should be more productive than some of the freak athlete WRs who don't have the work ethic/mental capacity/whatever to reach their potential. But will always be the AJs and Julios, and I doubt he'll reach that level.

I think he'll be more of a "very productive" NFL receiver than a highlight reel, elite NFL receiver. Which is obviously still extremely valuable.

He is very similar to marquese lee from USC .but may be faster. Good hand, explosive route runner, doesn't have the freak athleticism that Julio had

I've watched both Julio and Coop in person for 70% of their games and I would take Coop over Julio.

Julio had elite speed, jumping, all physical aspects. Great blocker. So-so hands.

Coop has elite speed, elite body control, elite hands, elite route runner, great blocker.

Also - Coop's initial seperation at the line is incredible. Probably the best I have ever seen at getting himself open in press coverage.

What makes one a freak athlete? Are you just talking about size and speed? Cooper can jump like a frog and I would bet his speed is comparable to Julio. No he doesn't have the huge frame of Julio, but to say he isn't a freak athlete, imo is not accurate.

I think the fact that Coop is so smooth hurts him in terms of raw eye test. I know I watch him and I don't realize how fast he is until he runs by everyone or how sudden he is until he makes a catch, jump stops and then runs past 2 more guys.

He really is one of those guys the more you watch the more you appreciate his greatness.

Cooper not only has great hands and terrific route running technique, but he has great moves and a fast motor after the catch. I think he is better than Julio was in college.

He's the most explosive WR in SEC history. Never has any other player taken so many screen passes 50+ yards to the house.
