We just don't have an inside threat at all to take the pressure df our streaky shooters. Everybody and their mom knows that Nick Jacobs relies on his left hand to shoot and Moussa is just terrible. I've really been disappointed with Rodney Cooper since he started the year so hot shooting the ball. Somebody else besides Releford and Lacey is going to have to step up their game.

Lacey is solid as well, throw in Coop and Randolph and this team has good talent. Just not in the paint.

They are streaky shooters...Randolph is athletic, where is their basketball skill? Dribbling? Passing? No....I guess defense. They are good defensively although I believe that is more mental than "skill". I really appreciate this teams effort and my main point is they should be commended for being 9-6 with our lack of skill

Grant's problem has been that he hasn't had a quality inside presence and reliable outside shooting at the same time. He's always had one or the other which makes Bama's offense predictable and easy to defend.

However, his defenses are always at or near the top of the conference in shooting percentage allowed. Bama's not very good right now but they aren't as far away from being good as it seems.

If Pollard can find his groove on the inside and stop defenses from extending so much to defend the perimeter, they could make some noise.

That is a huge problem with our offense and is often overlooked by many of our fans, but its also the fact that Grant isn't good on the offensive side of the ball either. Wheel is an effective offense, but that and one-on-one ball isn't going to be effective without any other offensive sets.

Another big problem with our offense is we don't have a distributor on our team. I love Releford, but he is the definition of a scoring PG. Other than alley-oop lobs he doesn't have much, if any distribution skills. Our best distributor is Steele and someone who averaged 35 pts in HS and did little to no passing, Lacey. That is why I am hoping we can get Coleman to sign with us. The kid has to be averaging about 13 or so assists per game while scoring at a high and efficient rate.

I expected Pollard to have more of an immediate impact. He was projected as a potential one-and-done. He looked a little lost when y'all played Mizzou.

Only one that projected him as a one and done was himself and his mother. Pollard is raw and has great athleticism and length, but he has a lot to work on before he can jump to the NBA. We knew coming in, that he would probably be at least a 3-year player despite his eagerness to get into the NBA as quick as possible.

I thought that was one of his best games

He's raw as hell. None of our fans that really followed his recruitment thought he would be a one and done, but 2 and done was thrown around. That's not happening either. He's got potential but it might be his junior year before he's really good.

To the OP, this is our arguably our most skilled perimeter since Grant's been here. Actually forget arguably, it is. We have the worst collection of post players in the country (at least major conference basketball). That and Grant's not exactly an offensive guru.

We cannot rebound, and one of the things that people forget about that is how much it affects the amount of shots we're able to get up each game. It's one of (certainly not only) the reasons we find it so difficult to score even 70 points a game. Just looking at the stats from the Tennessee game, my guess is we only put up a comparable number of shots because we dominated the turnover stats.

We also never get any second chance baskets so the only really easy baskets we get are off turnovers.

Honestly, I'm not expecting them to either. Stranger things have happened though. Basketball is a sport where one or two players getting hot can make all the difference. As long as Bama keeps the intensity up on defense, there's always a chance.
