One thing about Fannin, once he was able to take off that arm brace of his, the fumbles dropped drastically. Not saying they are correlated but he did show improvement afterwards.

He'd look good in black and gold. Be able to step right in once Bush is done.

I think Atlanta should trade Matt Ryan and Roddy White to Carolina for the #1 pick and get Fannin.

Smart coaches would have seen his ineptness on offense and moved him to defense.

frick the Falcons.....and hell no to the saints. we need solid running backs - not some that fumble - we had plenty of that this past year.

Mario never ran behind his shoulder pads (ran too upright), had shoulder problems.. these caused the fumbling problems...

His only chance is as a blocking type FB, who also plays special teams

Yeah, because averaging 8.4 ypc and 10 per catch in 09 is inept. He played more slot WR because of his shoulder, but he was still dangerous with the ball in his hands.

By the time he was a jr, it was too late for a position switch. He got benched early last year because he just couldn't hold on to the ball but still avg'd 6.5 a carry and 10.2 a catch.

Mario Fannin is gonna do great in the combine and NFL if he gets a shot. He would of put up crazy numbers this past year if he didnt have a shoulder injury which he had to wear a brace for that contributed to him fumbling so much.

He could be a great backup or 3rd down back in the NFL. He is very good in pass protection and is a recieving threat out of the backfield. Just don't hand the ball off to him.

Yep, which left the ball exposed and led to alot of fumbles. If he can change his technique, he MAY be able to shake the fumbling habit. Or, he can hope to play behind Adrian Peterson where the fans are used to it.

because averaging 8.4 ypc

On 34 carries, thus making his average well short of qualification on a national level.

10 per catch

Based off only 40 receptions, that's not that great at all considering he played more slot/H-Back...

he wasn't awful just wasn't excellent, perfect player for the combine imnsho, now he has a chance to prove himself to nfl scouts.

I'm sorry, but considering how much hype the guy got at the beginning of each year, he was awful. Every single year starting with his RS frosh year in 07, both the fans and media talked about how Fannin would be the breakout player for our offense. And by midseason of each year, he was nowhere to be found. But the coaches really didn't have a coach, as the guy fumbled every time he touched the ball.

Dude was a bust. Period.
