Did he have a non-compete or something? Damn good coach I wouldve loved to have him

I work in Nashville and listening to various talk radio shows around town, Vandy just wasn't willing to fully commit to the football program with upgrades in facilities, pay for assistants, etc.
Franklin was ok with what he was making financially but was NOT OK with them not seeing his vision and direction for the program. He left VERY amicably.

It's not like he chose between equal peers...PSU >>>>>>>>>>>>>Vandy

Sure is. What he's done at Penn State after that debacle is amazing.

By my count Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss, A&M, Tenn and Florida had openings while he was at Vandy.

Let's not forget Bill O'Brien is the one who stopped the bleeding/righted the ship. And leading up to this year's OSU game, Franklin's seat was starting to get a little warm. He was getting criticized for having no signature wins before that game.

Baylor was happy with Briles, Tennessee already had Butch Jones, Florida State had Jimbo Fisher. Penn State was the only rape tolerant university with an open coaching position.

Don't know but I am hoping his team PSU kicks the crap out of USC

Given that he made a point of trying to bring the players he recruited on Vandy's dime with him to PSU, "VERY amicably" isn't exactly accurate.

The vast majority of SEC schools in most all cases, tend to honor the gentlemen's agreement of not raiding one another for HCs.

Huh? Are you serious?

He said Vandy was all about football and not academics (yeah, he said that: LINK), he hired assistants based on how hot their wives were, he lied to his players about leaving, and he lied about the rape by his players. At least Ped State has moved on from raping children to raping young students. The guy is a turd.

the way that Franklin staff makes halftime adjustments is pretty impressive. Theyve smoked most everybody they've played in the second half. And this game looks no different.

Doesn't matter. There was no way Franklin wasn't going to Penn State. It's his dream job.
Nashville talk radio? Stick to Bill King if you want to listen to someone who actually knows what they're talking about. He'd tell you the same thing about Franklin.
