You're getting drafted very high, likely in the same spot either way if your a one and done guy.

Malik Newman, who like Monk is an undersized off-ball scorer, would like to have a word with you.

You can't really make that argument till we see what happens at Kansas

I know for a fact he could have had Monk if he had paid. Once again, not saying Kentucky did, but he was ours if we had chosen to go that route.

I think Monk was Kentucky bound all along but his brother led a lot of poeple to believe he was heading to Arkansas in return for brand building stuff like sponsors for tournements etc.

I know there was a lot more pissed off people about Monk leaving than Hill or Archie. End of the day though I can't fault the Monks - Marcus played for Arkansas for four years people loved him then he hurt his knee and didn't have a career so guess he had to do what it took to make money off Malik's potential.

The real sham is that schools and coaches making millions while a kid is still allegedly an amateur.

That's where it all fell apart. A part of me is glad that we don't play that, but it sure greases the way.

Sure he might do nothing there too, but the point is he went to a school that gets no coverage, playing in offense that didn't fit his game at all.

If Colin Sexton isn't an immediate one and done type guy at Bama next season people will imply that he made a wrong decision too.

That was a large part of the implication when Bama lost TFerg last year, but then he chose Arizona and it suddenly made a lot more sense.

I'm trying to find your point here. If you're only planning on playing one year how does it dramatically change your draft status? Ben Simmons went to LSU and probably had offers from every blue blood. Still went number 1 overall. Plus the guy you're talking about attends Kansas.

Is UK now so much ahead of Kansas as a program that simply playing for them leads to higher draft status?

There are 100 boosters within 15 miles of campus that would have paid that.

Y'all can have Malik for the one season he'll be there.

But that means y'all gotta take Marcus Monk FOREVER!

Eh, if you are good scouts will see you. You could make the argument that his brand could have weaken because of it.

Sure, that makes sense but nothing to do with the argument of coverage at "bigger" schools

One time fee? If that is true than I hope Mike at least thought about it for a few minutes

Yep, but it never got that far. The person handling the phone call told him Mike doesn't play that game. He committed to Kentucky later that day.

Ben Simmons is 6'10" with guard skills and crazy athleticism. He could have spent the year on the beach and gone #1.

Monk is an undersized 2 guard with really no great skills past scoring and athleticism. He started the year on the edge of the lottery in most mock drafts and now some people implying that he might be a top 5 guy.

Ummmm yeah now he does.
