Basically, if any other college student complained about the things HE complained about all while having their school paid for, no job, nice car, courtside seats to countless NBA games, MLB games, NFL games, etc...I would dislike them. I would think that kid has no grasp of the reality that average college students must live through.

What the heck are you talking about?

I think of JFF like the OBC. Talks shite but backs it up. I cannot wait for him to hit the pros. I really hope he is successful. Will be a major fan.

Yeah, as a Cowboy fan, I was pretty excited when Spurrier took over as Redskins HC. Thought it would lead to something of a revival of the rivalry from the George Allen days.

No such luck, though.

That's what all of this is about?
He was bent about a parking ticket--and that makes him "whiny?"
Some of y'all are too much.

He sure came across that way. On the other hand, almost nobody here has had to contend with Twitter, where your every thought suddenly gets broadcast to the world. That isn't to excuse a stupid post, but I know for damn sure I wouldn't have done better.

Twitter is a strange new world. That being said:

I wonder if any other college students get pissed about parking tickets?

I wonder if any other college students are on twitter?

I wonder if any other college students release their frustration about parking tickets on twitter?

It's the way he goes about it.

Plus numerous other issues. We both know no one would be talking about disliking him if it was just a parking ticket vent.

Well what then? I have my own personal gripe that hasn't and most likely won't be mentioned here, but I'm pretty sure that isn't what you're talking about. Most of what I see people griping about is entirely a media-driven frenzy. All Johnny, All The Time. Nobody would look good with the coverage he has gotten. But if you have something unique that hasn't been discussed I'd love to hear it.

I haven't read through this long thread. My issues with him are him:

Pushing a GA (huge no no imho to put your hands on a coach)

His constant bad body language

Everything ESPN says about him

Him taunting Rice

Etc...

No they aren't big issues except for pushing a GA but he comes across (and I obviously don't know him personally) as a huge douche. I will say ever since he has left Texas a&m I love what he's been saying. He's been humble and seems determined to work very hard in Cleveland. Is it just good coaching up by his agent? Idk.

I'm under 60, I live outside the state of Alabama, and I care what he said.

And furthermore, you're a douchebag. And a loser.

Thanks. Good honest answers, which are hard to come by here.

Pushing a GA: From what I read the GA egged him on and was pretty much begging for it. But I may be wrong.

Body language: I don't care for the "cashing out" bit at all. It has apparently been around A&M longer than Manziel. Doesn't mean I have to like it. But he had help here.

ESPN is presumably outside his control. You get negative points for this.

Taunting Rice: This BUGGED THE CRAP OUT OF ME at the time. And then it turned out that the guy he was taunting was a guy he was very familiar with and had played against in HS. Rice guy started it by asking for an autograph as a jab at him. I admit it looked horrible and I was one who jumped on him for this. But I think he gets a pass on this, despite the 15-yd penalty.

And still... nobody has mentioned the one unforgivable sin. And you won't, because you don't get it any more than the young Communists Pinko Gays who call themselves Aggies these days. /rant

It was Aggie (and then Houston Texans HC) Gary Kubiak's son who was the Rice player. He openly admitted after the game that it was him, not Manziel, who started the taunting bit.

No legit answer will be forthcoming, finestfirst79, because there is none. It's odd & bizarre hatred.

Manziel is the same guy now he's always been. All of this, "he seems to have changed" stuff is bunk.

Oh I don't hate him. Never have and never will. I sincerely wish Jake Matthews had punched him in the gut, hard, after the incident I'm thinking of. But it never happened. I still would like for Jake to punch him in the gut. He definitely deserves it. Even needs it, maybe. And get off my lawn, while I'm at it.

Don't know. Ask the Brown's owner and HC. They seem to be doubting that pick now.

You're a funny guy.

Senior Editor Vic Carucci says that the Browns’ decision-makers are taking a sensible and rational approach with Johnny Manziel.

That doesn’t mean Manziel can’t or won’t emerge as the starter as a rookie, perhaps as soon as the season-opener. It just means that he legitimately needs to work his way back to the place he was before arriving in the NFL.

I didn't say anything about the senior editor that happens to be drinking the koolaid. Post the owner and HC comments.
