How bad you want Saban gone?

Would you take Alabama winning it this year and have an undefeated NC next year to complete a 3-peat, if it meant Saban hung it up after that?

Only seven more years to go, then he retires according to rumors.

He can leave on his own time. These things work in cycles. Then you’ll be back to wandering in the wilderness with the Ray Perkins of the world.

Saban makes the rest of the conference stronger and more competitive because we all want to beat him. Iron sharpens iron. I’m honestly gonna miss Saban when he hangs it up. He’s a hell of a coach. Lot of respect for him. I yelled out “COACH NICK!!” when he was at the Tiger Walk before the ULM game in ‘03 shaking hands with people on the other side of the street. He turned around, walked up to me and shook my hand and said “Hey how’re you doing son”. I was 10, it was a really awesome moment of my childhood. He’s got a lot of class in my book.

The game is better with him in it.

Better coach than he gets credit for besides Bama has had plenty of success prior to Saban and will again after he retires.

I like him and admire what he has done, but I would almost pull for Bama if it meant he was retiring for good.

What if I told you Ray Perkins’ system produced Nick Saban?

I agree, he forces everyone else to step it up and he is one of the last of the old school coaches.

And this was a "rebuild" year for them......damn..

I don't want to see a conference champion by default like many around the country as proven by the first playoff games.

I think he leaves when Bryce and Will Anderson leave next year after the 3 peat.

Nothing left to prove and will be pushing 72.

I'm not so sure he's trying to prove anything, it seems he really enjoys what he's doing and will keep doing it until he's ready to hang it up.

He retires and Aranda shows up in T-town.

No problem with that.

Yeah, back to winning 10 or more games per year, winning an SEC title and National Title (or two) every decade, while still owning every team Bama has played ten or more times.

The Decline will be real....

I think he was putting distance between himself and younger coaches like Urban and Dabo who had already won a few.

It would suck to retire then one of those young coaches goes on a run and your records don't last a decade.

With Urban essentially out of coaching for a while and Dabo dead in the water another 2 titles would probably make him feel secure enough to hang it up.
