I was shocked as well. The offense for WSU rolled but they couldn't stop Rutgers.

I like to keep up with Leach. I just wish he would focus more on defense. The guy is eccentric as hell but has a keen sense of wit and intellect to complement. Petrino has the personality of a door jamb.

I really liked Leach's book, Swing Your Sword.

Bobby's a dick, but a damn good coach. One of the best offensive minds in the game today.

I genuinely feel bad for Arkansas fans. This is just another kick in the nads.

We aren't beating FSU, but I think we can get to 9 wins. I think we win at Notre Dame

Yep. Nice upgrade at HC for Louisville though.

Bobby Petrino has only himself to blame for what happened at Arkansas. I wish Bobby Petrino success at Louisville.

The only thing that would concern me is if we ever had to play against his team and I don't think we'll be playing against Louisville any time soon.

Don't you want Louisville to be ranked when AU opens with them next year?

Auburn opens with Louisville next year? This should be good.

If you can divide head coaching duties into four simple categories (game day play calling, team preparation, recruiting, and staff development/retention/hiring) then Petrino was easily top five in play calling, top 25 in game day prep, but mediocre in recruiting and staff aspects. Recruiting was partially tainted by being here and not in a hotbed, that is just part of life our fan base can't accept. Even in a hotbed though I can see him neglecting defensive recruiting a bit though. Staff issues are a combination of him being a complete micromanager and view that the staff is there to help him as opposed to the view that the staff is there to help the team.

In a perfect situation (Florida or maybe Texas for him) he would absolutely field teams like 2005 USC. Outside of those areas, he would be a very good head coach but have built in limits. I think he could have maintained a 8-10 win team here, I really do...but he is scum and had to fire him, every other major conference school would have done the exact same in our situation...and would have a split fan base because of it

In 2 years he's coach at UF.
When announced, the largest melt down in the history of Pig Land.
Can hardly wait.

I don't think any Hog fan would have been upset had he not done all the shite he did. We would be fine if he were still here.

But, he did all of it, lied about it, hired his mistress for a job she wasn't qualified for(state position)gave her around $30,000 in total of tax payer money.

Thing is, seeing how he recruited and how he wanted control over every aspect of the team, 2012 wasn't going to be the year many had hoped anyway. That team had holes galore. Maybe 6-7 wins at most. My concern would then be, he couldn't recruit us out of that hole, so where would we be now?

Bobby gave us a good 3-4 year run, but he never won the West, something Danny Ford and Houston Nutt did at Arkansas. He did get Arkansas to a BCS bowl, which was great but he never won that big game. His best team, 2010, had Alabama beat and led Auburn in the fourth quarter. Both games lost.

I agree. I hope BP has changed. I hold no grudges.

But what BP did at the time was on our watch. He screwed up. But whatever he does or doesn't do from here on out is of little concern to me.

Being a coach at the major college level is about so much more than the Xs and the Os.

We entrust these men withe the moral development of the impressionable young men placed under their care, and ...

I'm sorry. I simply cannot maintain a straight face for the remainder of that speech.
