Many of them are still used as offices unless something changed recently.

I think the Anthropology Department was using them for years and, if I remember right, they used to store bones in some of those rooms under the stadium. Not sure if that's still the case. Heard my in-laws talking about this once, all are Vols fans or UT grads.

That makes perfect sense. Kyle once had a track is why its so far away. With the field moving fans will be much close, but still sitting higher than LSU's first row.

I thought I asked if the field was moving and they said "no", so it is moving then?

It's pretty surprising this hasn't been done anywhere in the SEC yet. I mean, it's the football fan equivalent to getting to sleep in Cinderella castle in Disney World. I know what I'd be devoting a whole vacation's worth of money to

Not worth that much to sit in or look at, though.

eh, it's come a loooong way since the erector set look when they were balls deep in the capacity race with Michigan. Neyland looks very nice inside and out now. Seats in the end zone upper decks are still tight but everything else is nice

LSU has talked about it for years....but they say the asbestos abatement would cost too much. i don't think i could put an amount on the money i would spend to stay there for one Saturday night for an SEC game

its so many things. the asbestos being the biggest problems but apparently the pipes, the ceilings, the floor, just about every single thing about those dorms is complete shite.

The LSU guys have had a lot of nice pics of the interior work to their new additions. I hope we get some inside pics soon. Outside of the bricks being laid down outside, it doesn't look like much is being done since the structure is up and the boards, benches, and seats are in.

Seats have been added closer to the field.
The field wasn't moved.

It certainly looks improved from what it has been, but it's not a place that I'm eager to revisit. I just don't care much for stadiums that are that closed in. LSU and Auburn I like because it still has an open feel despite their size. Bama I'm not crazy about. UTk, though, has so much awesome scenery around that part of Tennessee and you'd never know where you were while inside that stadium.

I seriously couldnt sit in my seat when i went to UT. i was 2nd or 3rd from the aisle and when i got there the row was full. i asked people to move over so i could sit in my seat and they looked at me like move over where? There were literally touching down the entire row and several people had to turn sideways to fit (basically their left shoulder was pointed at the field and they were staring into the earhole of the person next to them).

I just had to shake my head. i mean cmon.

i'm actually a UT grad myself, haha, UT has a huge body farm off campus now for forensic science, one of, if not the, only thing like it in the country. when i was a student, there were just a few offices there, student ID services for sure.

Great stuff.
I'm sure y'all are fired up--rightly so.
Unfortunately, we're still a good year away from seeing a final product in College Station--with the bulk of the work on Kyle Field being done during the next offseason.
From this fan's perspective, It's kinda tortuous.
Congratulations on a great venue.

Side-note: Wonder how long it'll be before someone vandalizes the Lafayette County area on that map ?

When he asked before (if my memory is correct), he was asking whether the field had shifted from the east to the west--said it looked like the center had moved.

That's what I was referring to.

For 17 years, I went to Razorback games in DRS in Fayetteville which is U shaped similar to Georgia. I really enjoy the open look too.

It actually took me awhile to get adjusted to Tiger Stadium my freshmen year. Closed stadiums can be very imposing
