Nutt's biggest problem was that he refused to hire an OC and could not recruit and develop a QB to save his life.

He had three decent QB's in his coaching career. Two were not recruited by him and were developed by someone else (Stoerner and Snead). The other (Jones) was just a magician.

If the 2006 and 2007 teams even had a serviceable QB, they would've won the SEC. Casey Dick completed less than 50% of his passes in 2006. He went 3 of 17 for 29 yards vs. LSU in a great game.

That was his ego getting in the way. His ego also got him in a few other situations, and continues to cause him to show his insecurities when talking about his career.

Go ahead, tell us about your vast underachievement as a program and how you are better than us. Maybe you can also expound upon the series record of 41-29-3 record that Arkansas owns against you.

Look at who is coaching at R-Kansas!! Coach cares more about eating then coaching.

I haven't seen anything from Bielema on the field since he got to Arky that makes me think he is better than Nutt.

Nutt destroyed Ole Miss but not so sure he destroyed Arky.

Nutt didn't destroy Arkansas, but I think spotting a coach 10 seasons to win something meaningful is more than fair. they looked brilliant hiring Petrino too at the time

Destroyed? No, not at all

Now I do think it is a little silly to compare both by records purely. Obviously the Sec has changed. That being said Bert hasn't done much to defend himself in that debate.

Where is Bert in terms of hot seat potential per the Arky faithful?

Fairly hot but cooler than it should be because of his buyout. IMO he is going to need 9 wins to keep it from becoming very hot the following year.

Ole Miss figs should be the last people commenting in this thread. Go back to building your 2018 class.

It is my hope, a distant and faint one I admit, that one day the dim witted, the retarded, and the just plain stupid, realize that we don't take R-Kanasas as an insult... we just feel really sorry for your parents.

I apologize to your family for the tremendous burden you must be to them. They have my admiration for shouldering such an onerous burden as you and others like you.

Bert leaves when he wants to leave. He's a BSer and knows how to stay employed, 7-5 every year with the occasional 8-4 and he has nothing to worry about. Our mainstream fans love him.

I think the donors are the ones whose opinion matters. I don't see how you can run Houston Nutt off but pay Bielema twice as much for, realistically, lesser results.

Should an Aggot really be talking about anyone else's defense?

Trying to compare Nutt and Bielema's pay is stupid. Only thing that matters is what Bielema is paid relative to other coaches in the conference right now. Coaching salaries have gone up a shite ton since Nutt's time.

Also, Nutt would struggle to make a bowl game in today's SEC.

Nutt was the best coach Arkansas ever had and they deserve everything they get for what they did to that man.

Trying to compare those two situations is ignorant. Also the "ran Houston Nutt off" is hilarious.
