I am one of the few who likes Hugh Freeze. He was proving to out coach the great Nick Saban, and then all the sudden, he comes under great scrutiny for cheating. All major programs do what Ole Miss was doing, the problem was that he was disturbing the Saban is god of football narrative. I hope they keep him, keep cheating, and beat the snot out of Bama.

Ole Miss has turned into a low down trashy University made up of corrupted minded political people and nothing at all about how that University southern gracious living used to be.

With no class anymore.

How does firing him help us? Wont give us any break in sanctions. There isn't another coach who's got any track record of winning anywhere who's itching to make his name at OM.

Freeze has proven he can take a shite OM team and make it good in 3yrs or less. Ill take that guy. Who he is as a person and whatever his beliefs may be I couldn't care less.

FIFY. Now you'll be set back for a decade. Was it worth it?

First you have to come to grips with what type of program Ole Miss is when they aren't cheating. It's basically a .500 program that's more likely to lose 10 games in a season than win 10.

So in 5 years, sure you can still be a 6-6 or 7-5 team. But regularly winning 9+ games (which is the path most OM fans thought Freeze was on) likely will not be within reach for about a decade or more.

eta:
Since the Billy Brewer era (1983-present):
214-187-3 overall (.533) ~ 6.4-5.6 avg
105-150 in conf. (.412) ~ 3.3-4.7 avg

You might be right if we were to fire Freeze and roll the dice on an unproven first time head coach.

With Freeze we need a QB, WRs, and a middle of the pack defense. He can get those players within 5 yrs. This decade long nonsense that you claim is bs unless we get the death penalty.

And while Ole Miss sits there with their thumb up their arse, the recruiting class of 2018 is evaporating before their eyes. Better to cut your losses and start the rebuilding process than this slow death by a thousand cuts.

Maybe 50/50 on that one. Will depend a lot on the state of all the surrounding programs 5 yrs from now.

that's all OM has ever been. They haven't "turned into" anything. They have just been exposed. Mississippi State should receive some kind of fricking humanitarian award national championship just for sharing a state with them.

Which is why you hold on to Freeze for as long as possible. All the other coaches we have hired have been shite.

OM's last recruiting class was horrid. Even with a last-ditch effort to add even more WRs and a couple of non-qualifiers on NSD. This year's class is probably not looking too good. Once the penalties come down it will screw OM for a couple more years. If you get the two-year bowl ban and players can leave, that roster will likely be depleted.

You're talking about starting from absolute scratch in 2020 and fielding a competitive team by 2021, don't see it. Also, I'd be shocked if Freeze kept his job after this. But even if he does, it ain't going to be pretty
