We'll see how many excuses UF fans come up with when LSU and Mett hand UF it's arse in Death Valley this year. You will need much more than 14 this year to win and I don't think anyone thinks Driskel or that terrible offense has it.

mett has not sucked at all. he was really, really good against bama. last year the receivers badly underperformed. actually, the same was true with Jefferson. tons of dropped passes.
this year, the receivers are playing with an edge. they look sharp and the numbers are much better.
It didn't take a&m fans long to get as bad as the arky fans.

Well Mett did beat the Heisman trophy winning quarterback last year so he can't be all that bad.

He has had the tools since coming to Lsu and I think the fan base knew who could be something special but he had fricked up mechanics and super slow feet. It didn't help last year that his pass blocking was atrocious and he was constantly getting planted on his arse. With that said Cam Cameron worked with him all off season on his footwork and mechanics and he seems to be getting his throws off on time and making the correct pre snap reads. He also seems to be head and shoulders more accurate with the football than last year. He is a much improved quarterback and wish we had one more year with him after this year.

But talking him up before the 2012 season, was there a letdown, do you guys think he underperformed? exceeded excpectations? was about what you expected him to be?
Mett last year probably had the worst coaching he's had since he's been in college. Our QB coach had parkinsons, and our OC was a dunce. Now with a legit NFL QB coach/OC, you're seeing a big difference. The talent level is still there, and Cam knows how to properly coach and utilize it.
The biggest difference is definitely the deep ball. Last year he completed ZERO passes over 30-35 yards I believe (through the air, not like a 10 yard grab and 40 yard run). He constantly overthrew our receivers on deep routes trying to showcase his gun and it seemed like when he did put it on the money it was dropped.
Now he underthrows the ball a bit on those, trusting his WRs to make the plays, which in general, they definitely have.

Always saw him as a huge improvement over Jefferson/Lee. The Bama game last year proved he had it in him. Getting Cameron this year made me that much more confident, but...
I didn't expect the improvement to be as much as it's been. At this point I'm full blown fanboi retard because had we had this offense last year, we'd have gone undefeated and be sitting on yet another crystal ball. And I think that's a very strong possibility for this year as well.

Mett beat this guy Aaron Murray out while at UGA before getting booted for groping a big alumni daughter and then went on to lead his Junior college team to what a natty or something so yeah were really excited. But he was inconsistent last year which most fans begin to say that JFF would suck in our system and we want an damn Offensive Co.
With a real OC we are excited not just that he looks better but that we have a freaking offense and not up the middle, up the middle, incomplete and punt.

You will probably win, but it will be probably because our offense/QB/playcalling sucks, not necessarily because you have Mettsiah.
