In 2000, LSU had 5 players from Evangel on our roster. One of them was named Booty.

Jacob Hester was from Evangel, but we've had very few players from Evangel since. I think Rasco is the only one since Hester.

I don't follow recruiting much but the rumors I heard were that the Booty family pretty much disowned LSU and has badmouthed us to everyone at Evangel.

Wow, I didn't know that. Does Alabama get most of Evangel's talent nowadays?

I agree. we traditionally haven't had alot of success there but coach smith has gotten us in the door and I hope for continued success down there. he will get a raise this offseason and it is deserved. I feel like LA has amazing talent and I always felt geographically that it made sense for us to get recruits from there. it will help us immensely.

That article is written by Eric Bolin, who is the worst douche bag in arkansas. He is known for twisting quotes and making them seem as negative towards Arkansas as is possible. I wouldn't believe a single thing he put quotes around.

That being said, there wasn't much trash being said if he was quoted correctly. If LSU needs motivation from a backup safety they are in huge trouble

Nobody is touting arkansas as having a great pass defense.

And nobody is saying we have Peyton Manning playing for us, but if any defense will allow Harris to have a good game, it's Arkansas.

Isn't Harris from Parkway High School? He and Santos, I believe, played each other every year in high school and are in the same class. He probably knows Harris's tendencies better than any other player in the conference.

Evangel doesn't produce near the talent that they used to.

Nope. Not a single kid from Shreveport on the roster but one three star from Bossier.

Bama does quite well in Monroe though.

You would think it would be possible. If he is going to have a big game the odds are in his favor this weekend.

He is less than 50% in 3 games.(cuse,e mich and bama)

Yeah, I'm guessing that has a lot to do with Johnny Booty moving on. I didn't even realize he had moved on as I haven't kept up in ages. Evangel was a force for a long time.

I just remember when John David Booty went to USC that LSU got very few Evangel kids going forward. I remember Abram Booty always heading for the sidelines to escape getting tackled seemingly every time he caught a pass.

If you're not an elite blocker you may as well GTFO. We've got two big athletic receiving type TEs that were highly recruited. One plays minimally while the other hasn't been seen since he signed his LOI.

I'm hearing the wheels are in motion. Instead of having a TE play the role of an extra OL, you can have an extra o-lineman playing the role of an elite blocking TE. Plus, look at those soft hands. What a dimension he could add to the offense!
