I would ditch lsu for Texas for that game in a hot fricking minute. Without a doubt.

Probably, but there are more that hate us and OU. And you would have a hard time finding a group of Texas fans that hates Arkansas more than OU or A&M.

OU you would without a doubt be their #3 at best behind UT and OSU.

I believe the Arkansas and Texas rivalry would be a strong game and determine championships.

As much fun as it would be to play Texas every year, I think that would just be kind of dumb to do that. We would have to play LSU, Bama, Texas, Auburn and sometimes Florida or Georiga every season. That's a lot of fun, but would suck to see teams from the Big 12 and Pac 12 get better bowls for having better records against a much weaker schedule.

This was why I have no problem not playing them anymore. The SEC West is hard enough

I agree about OU. I seriously would not care one bit about playing them.

I'd enjoy playing tech more, but that's only because I fly to Lubbock for work and it would be free for me.

Until the first time you're a visiting fan in Lubbock

We've been down the Tech "rivalry" road, getting pelted with batteries isn't fun I think their fanbase has changed quite a bit since the SWC days

1) Texas will not give the SEC another "in" to recruiting Texas so they won't play Arkansas every year
2) If Texas were willing then Arkansas would be stupid to pass up the chance. Yes, it would make their schedule harder but playing A&M and Texas every year would be exactly what they need to recruit better in Texas

I'm familiar with their current fans. To put it nicely if alien and gov crazy shite really is happening next door in Roswell.... It's obvious where they dump their test dummies.

Oh man Texas on Thanksgiving would be such a pain in the arse logistically but worth it just to stick it to LSU/A&M.

One of the things that made UT/A&M such an awesome Thanksgiving night game is the proximity of Austin and Bryan to each other and the easy drive from the major TX cities. The sheer size of the schools too was a factor, but how close both teams fanbases are to each other is so important.

We are getting a huge influx of Texas kids in Fayetteville so it could evolve into something.

The proximity of Austin and College Station was probably more of a factor but I get what you're saying

What would Texas get out of playing Arky?

They don't need the money and they very obviously prefer an easier path to a championship game or they would be in the SEC. Arky would bring the Jihad to beat them making it a risky and not-needed OOC game.

No upside except for rivalry hate, and then only barely.

Older Texas fans that still hate Arky love the fact that not playing them hurts the program. In fact more than one has told me the best part of A&M to the SEC is that they believe Arky got knocked down a peg (LSU game, how we forced a home and home mid Jerryworld contract, etc.).

Younger Longhorn fans don't care about Arky. They might support playing SEC teams to spite A&M but that is why Ole Miss exists.

Hell, Texas's whole "isolate A&M plan" is based on the fact it worked so well with Arky. When something works, you don't stop. Not when there is so many other teams Longhorn fans would rather play.

Rival? We don't need no stinkin' rival!

Let's just line up and whip whoever is on our schedule, when ever they are scheduled, and let the rivalry stuff take care of it's self.

As much as LSU obsesses over us then it might be them. Mizzou really wants to be but I think we'll just look outside the conference for one.

Maybe we can fire something up with Ok State since they're just a couple hours down the road.
