It's why he left LSU to be honest. He wanted to cheat but LSU decided to do things the right way. So they parted ways. It is what it is.

his whole life is big cheating lie. He built his career off the back of others work. He was a mediocre subpar coach before he came to LSU. The success he had at LSU was due to the ground work that Gerry Dinardo started. The success he is having at Alabama was started by Shula who had Alabama sitting at 9 and 0 two seasons before he was fired. Take note that he didn't do much at Michigan State or with the Miami Dolphins. It doesn't seem like Saban can build a team from ground up. Perhaps this is why he slithered out of Miami before he was fired. However there is time to prove all critics wrong. He can take a job at another university who has had limited success and build them up.

I am relatively sure that this will be the anti-LSU thread that allows Alabama fans to regain their strength after the Clemson loss.

How did you regain your strength after Bama raped you?

Officially no. Unofficially, he probably walked the line like a lot of big coaches at big time programs have. How he got JaMarcus Russell to Baton Rouge was still pretty amazing given the competition for his services

Just another LSU fan trying to diminish the importance of Saban during their national championship year...

So should LSU fans not claim that title

Remember, the great USC won the title that year?! Of course we all know what kind of shite went down with that group. I had some good friends of mine who were around the program back then and did say that NS was frustrated at times with our Compliance Department. At that time that news pissed me off since his argument was we were getting beat by teams who were doing the borderline and beyond stuff. I think Saban is now free to do whatever he wants to get kids and that's how he likes it. If that is "cheating" so be it but it doesn't seem like anyone at the NCAA is real worried about it so why not?
