How surprised are yall at the way the defense has been playing?

Did you think he run game would be this successful with White as the QB?

Or did you think the passing game would have to carry the load with him at QB?

Looks like OM has tanked the season staring in the 2nd half of the L5u game (fighting on sidelines) but they're still the best 4 loss team in the country. Any worries about that game? I see Au is a 2 point favorite, seems little low, think it should be @ Au - 10.5 , thoughts?

I worry about almost every SEC game, especially on the road. I think it will be a good game.

Sot since the first couple of games, I knew the D was legit.

Just having the threat to run helps. White can run (as evidenced in the 40 yard one he broke last night.) He can pick up 1st downs with his feet, he's just not a home run threat in most cases.

I am not surprised about the defense. I felt we had all the pieces in place for a big season on D.

Yes and no, I did feel our offense works better with a really good running QB, but I was more worried about our O Line than White at QB. Both have proved competent to really good.

As far as passing goes, I never expected it to have to carry us because I wasn't sure how good of a passing game we would have. It is solid but I would like it to be a little stronger myself.

Ole Miss tall receivers and a mobile Kelly do concern me, but they have no rushing game, and their defense looks really soft vss the run. I am confident we can win this game, but it won't be an Arky type win.

The most surprised I've ever been as a college football fan. Stanford upsetting USC in 2007 level of surprise.

Nope.

Not worried at all. Ole Miss could be a tough game but I think they fold after some adversity early in the game.

I knew we had talent on defense, especially on the line. Most depth there since 2013. Still, shocked at how good the unit is. This has turned into the most balanced team we've had in a long, long time.

Could have had a 2013ish season had the schedule started easy and then gotten hard but what can you do.

I think Ole Miss could absolutely take Auburn down. They are at home and beyond desperate. I think Auburn is playing better ball and wins though.

I knew there were a lot of talented players on D, but I expected them to underachieve because of how our defenses have played over the last 8 years.

I wasn't concerned as much with White at QB as I was with Jovon being dismissed.

He could carry an offense with a spread air raid attack, but Gus isn't going to run that.

The line surprised me and is my biggest worry. I also worry a little about the team handling success and going on the road against a wounded opponent.

Thanks for all the replies.

I've been watching more Au football this year (one my son's is a FR )

PreSeason I was pretty high on Au being a darkhorse for the SECW and had picked yall to beat L5u.

The defense has surprised me the most, I knew there was an abundant of talent on the DLine but wasn't sure about LBs and DBs.

Think Au handles OM pretty easily by running it all over them but just have to hope Kelly doesn't go off and have some crazy game he's much better at Home with the home crowd behind him, if it was at Au then I would think Au wins by 30.

A little but not much. Defense was hyped up all spring. We were just all pretty skeptical of that hype.

We've always figured out a way to run

Still think we could pass more than we do

Kelly is essentially the only worry. We have pretty good DBs though and OM's Oline seems like trash

I certainly am. I have ptsd even it comes to auburn defense. This has been refreshing. We have speed at LB. And great DL play. I've been the leader of the Fire Rodney Garner party, I'm off it now.

Yes. We ran the ball we without a running qb in 2009 and 2011. We didn't even run the zoneread until game 4 of the 2013 season. But 2013 ruined Gus as a playcaller.

Never though Sean could carry the load becuse Gus would not let him. 2014 Arkansas showed me what sean can do. Rhett has put Sean in the position to succeed.

I don't take the Ole Miss game for granted one bit. It would be just perfect when people actually start counting them out for them to punch someone (us) in the face.

I'm hopeful that they're softened up a little after yesterday.

I believed the D had all the pieces to be great, but until you see it you really don't believe it. I kept waiting for something to go wrong early.

I didn't believe it would be "this" successful but I always believe Gus can run the football. I expected to beat Clemson in the first game because we would run the ball and our D would surprise people. I was shocked by how poorly our oline play was early. For all the weeping and gnashing of teeth over play calling it was a simple issue of poor oline execution in many cases.

I am not a huge fan of SW, but I support him and wish him the best. I question his arm strength as SEC caliber. I do love his moxy. The one missing element from our O, which is classic Gus is the deep threat. That's on Sean.

I learned a long time ago it was not smart to take any SEC team lightly. I was a bit surprised by the -1 to start but Vegas is a business. I do believe their big WR and Kelly's ability to hit 3 step passes will cause us issues. I am hoping we control the game with our ability to run the football. I expect a win, but don't believe it is a guarantee.
