Actually, LSU could have easily paid Herman whatever he wanted, but LSU isn't stupid enough to pay an unproven head coach any more money than his experience, I mean lack thereof, is worthy of being paid.

Not to mention, that he had already stabbed LSU in the back as soon as he shook Alleva's hand on an agreement to negotiate, by getting his agent to leak that info to Texas boosters. Then after that moron gets his offer from Texas, he has the audacity to get his agent to contact Alleva again to ask for a counter offer. Then Alleva told him to go have sex with himself.

If you ask me, it's Texas AD admins who are retarded for paying a totally unproven head coach astronomically far more money than he is worth. I'm guessing he will end up being the next Charlie Strong, as most up and coming head coaches end up being flash in the pan pretenders than winners.

He didn't get the better job, as LSU sits in the best recruiting Mecca in America with virtually no recruiting competition because it is the single flagship university of Louisiana, they have one of the best football stadiums in America, they are in the SEC West, the most prestigious conference and division in America, and it's football facilities are second to none. Uhm...don't forget, LSU has owned Texas A&M ever since the aggies joined the SEC.

Not to mention that coaches at LSU don't have to put up with the LSU boosters constantly dogging the coaching staff the same way Strong had to and now Herman will have to now that he is the new head coach of Texas.
