I agree. But you can't reason with unreasonable people.

No, you can't. But as the administration and faculty and staff of an institution of higher learning, it is your job to at least try. And if they insist on being unreasonable in the face of obvious attempts to help, then they can just be miserable and graduate with a dilpoma they resent. Or leave. They don't have to be there.

All you guys wishing bad for Mizzou and calling them pussies for giving in are kind of stupid. This is a business, a multi-million dollar business and is ran like one. Every other school in the SEC wouldn't have been in this situation because the presidents would have jumped out so far ahead of that shite and nipped it that they would have been championed by the media and fan base alike. So while you are here bashing Mizzou, just know that your school would have caved faster, maybe a whole lot faster. I know Bama would have.

Well someone on this board makes sense and understands the business aspect of college football

There's a reason why this shite happens in Missouri. And Baltimore. Check out the protests by white parents in the DUMBO area of Brooklyn because the school system wanted to relocate hundreds of black kids to their high-performing public school. There's a reason why this stuff happens in the North.

Ole Miss caved on the flag thing because they had no choice.

We've seen nothing which suggests the existence of systemic racism on Mizzou's campus. We've heard about two instances where prominent black students were targeted and we've heard about a hate symbol made out of pooop.

The Ole Miss flag was a school-sanctioned symbol of racism. The glaring issue there speaks for itself and the circumstances aren't remotely close.

On a campus of 35,000 students, there will always be isolated incidents of ignorant people acting in an offensive manner. That will never change. We've now tasked administrators' with the responsibility of monitoring every word uttered from every student on campus. Not only is that impossible, it lays the groundwork for policies that threaten free speech and inhibit open discourse.

This was truly an instance of Missouri cutting off its nose to spite its face.

Business aspect? What I believe is this: Alabama's team is stockpiled with many future millionaires who would never risk their future fortune to walk out over something like this.

Not to mention, the local rednecks who may have no association with the school The dipshit of a student body president went on a rant because some redneck passenger in a pickup truck yelled the N word at him...yet the redneck may very well have not even been a student.
