By my calculation Bama now has the second most Heisman finalists since 1982 (which is when finalists were first announced) and the SEC has more Heisman finalists than any other conference.

5 out of the last 7 and the last 3 years in a row that an Alabama player has been invited to New York as a heisman finalist.

2009 Mark Ingram (won)
2010
2011 Trent Richardson
2012
2013 AJ McCarron
2014 Amari Cooper
2015 Derrick Henry

Has this happened before to any other school?

Before Nick Saban, Bama had a few other finalists. But Saban's Bama program has taken it to a new level.

West-1. McCaffery 2. Henry 3. Watson
Midwest- 1. McCaffery 2. Henry 3. Watson
Southwest- 1. McCaffery 2. Watson 3. Henry
South- 1A- Henry 1B Watson 3. McCaffery

East will be the key. Will the ACCs deep stretch in the East counter the elitist presses desire to have a Stanford White kid take home the award. If so Henry wins, if not it is McCaffery's.

I get downvotes for saying report a guy who calls people coons? You people are an embarrassment and make the entire South look like bigoted morons.

You aren't serious are you? The term "coonass" has absolutely nothing to do with black people. If you live anywhere along the gulf coast or in Louisiana, the term is very common. And people don't get bent out of shape by the term either.

Bama has made top 5 of teams with players finishing in the heisman top 5. LINK

Alabama has now seen 13 of its players finish in the top five of the Heisman voting since the first award was handed out in 1935, behind only Notre Dame (29), Ohio State (18), Oklahoma (17) and USC (16). Stanford has had 10 in the top five, tying Army, Miami and Texas for ninth-best ever.
