Who was it on this board that compared McElroy to Newton?

And then followed up by saying McElroy was better prepared for the NFL than Cam Newton.

I'll take whatever that guy was having.

GMAC hasn't lost a NFL game since the 8th grade.

ONterio McCalleb in 2010 had an 8.8 yards per play average.

OMac...greatest SEC RB ever!

except he didn't even run for 900 yards and had 10 tds total.

comparing ingram to bo in terms of Heisman years....they are equal at the least or lean to favoring Ingram in terms of greatness.

So is OMac in your opinion the best player in the history of college football or just the conference?

He's undefeated in regular season NFL games he's played in too.

you should learn what "per play" means.

And factor in all of his receiving and kick return yards too.

Au fans are the only ones who single out ypc averages. I have always posted and used overall stats. Comparable touches, yards, TD's.

Heisman year comparison: '09 Ingram vs. '85 Jackson

Plus, Ingram was just a sophomore and Bo was a senior. And Ingram led his team to an undefeated season and Bo led his to 4 losses.

Just a question... can you refresh my memory, what was Ingram doing during the time of year he wasn't playing football?

What was Jackson doing?

I'm sorry... 1 TD, and 6 inches per carry more on average does not even come close to equating to Bo Jackson considering he was a two sport star.

There are a tremendous amount of stupid "who's got the biggest dick" comparison threads on this board... but this one is by far the worst.

It's always good having a Lionel James and Tommy Agee to soften up defenses.

That was good in 1983 when Bo had his best year and averaged about 8 yards per carry (250+ yards on 12 carries I believe against bama).

In 1984 and 1985 though, AU went to the I formation instead of the wishbone. Pat Washington was a complete disaster at qb and we had practically no offensive line in 1985. It was a joke.

Washington's stats in 1985:

Completions: 56
Attempts: 122
Yardage: 772
TDs: 2
Int: 6

QB rating: 94

McElroy in 2010:

Comp: 222
Attempts: 313
Yardage: 2987
TD: 20
Int: 5

QB rating: 169

Seriously, it is a miracle Bo put up the numbers he did in 1985. Probably no other back in the history of college football could have put up Bo's numbers against 8-9 man fronts all year with zero threat of a passing game. I mean 2 TDs and 6 Ints all year??? WTF?

A simple yes and yes will do.

Personally I think Barry Sanders came close but OMac is clearly supreme.

lulz

in 2010 mccallebb had 810 rushing 86 receiving and 227 returning kicks. so 1123 total.

the point of comparing per play is to allow for comparing 2 players that played a different # of games (Ingram with 14 and Bo with 12)

So you are telling me that O-Mac had over ten yards every single time he touched the ball?

FlukerFlakes sorry to derail your thread but My God we just found the greatest RB to ever touch the football field.

1985

Rushing stats
Bo 1786 yds
Fullwood 684 yds
Agee 402 yds
Team 589 yds

3461 yds rushing. Yep. Awful Oline they were behind.

Wouldnt the most logical comparison be yards per game to account for uneven amount of games?

Oh.

And Fullwood had 6.8 ypc to Bo's 6.6 ypc that year.

what if it was?

That would make it the greatest rushing attack the world has ever seen.

well, until 2010 Auburn came along with the GOAT RB.
